    A newbies thoughts about snuff

The nasal snuff talk forum had got me curious about snuff, 5 days ago I received my first order.

6 25g cans from Toque ( Whiskey & honey, Spanish gem, Peanut butter, Toast & marmalade, Cherry and
Blueberry menthol). And what a pleasant surprise they were. I have only used 1/10 of my normally snus consumption during the weekend while exploring the snuffs.

I could really see nasal snuff have a fair share of my tobacco money - Combined with snus. Once I got hold on how to use it and dose the right size piles it was true heaven.

I have studied snusdog`s guide to nasal snuff (great work) and read alot of treads in the nasal snuff forum - thanks to all who have participated for advice, tips and tricks or for just sharing their story. It is really helpful.

I have already pulled the trigger for an order at MrSnuff. Among other things, The F&T HDT. It seems to be a snuson allstar! And thanks to lxs,who has been a good ambassador to Bernard, some schmalzers.

So I´m excited about the world of snuff that awaits me out there!

Welcome aboard! Snuff is a great accompaniment to snus. I use more in the winter than in warm weather, but a pinch is always welcome. American snuffs can be a little hard to take, but they're great to keep around. Get one in the plastic tube(as opposed to paperboard), and it makes a good emergency stash to keep in the car. It's dry as dust, and extreme temperatures don't seem to hurt the flavor. If you're out, and forget your tobacco, you'll have a ready backup without having to get raped on the cost of a pack of smokes.

F&T HDT is a WIN for sure! You should give Wilsons & Co (Sharrow) Irish High Toast No.22 a try. Also, if you like HDT i'm sure you'll love Samuel Gawith Irish D Light, that was the original F&T HDT i think, so they say!

          Thanks guys!

Got a mail from MrSnuff that my order has been shipped - Ohh that waiting time.

          I ordered: F&T HDT 25g
          WoS Camphor and Mild 25g
          WoS Cherry Menthol 25g
          WoS Honey Menthol 25g
Samuel Gawith Irish D Light 10g
          Bernard Amostrinha 10g
          Bernard Klostermischung 10g
          Bernard Brasil Dobbelt Frementiert 10g

and a posh bullet, don´t no if it´s any good or it will pay for itself like my Icetools.

I was thinking about adding "chekkerberry" to my card, but somehow it did not make the final 8. That one must be on the wish list.

I'm not a big fan of Checkerberry, but I don't like wintergreen. Checkerberry is like the antiAmerican snuff. It inverts everything you'd consider typical of the style. It's coarse, moist, and easy to take. If you like wintergreen, it's worth a try, but don't consider it representative of the American style.

WE Garrett, and Tube Rose are my 2 favorite Americans. The former is a smokey scotch, and the latter, a sweet, slightly smokey... erm... sweet :^D It has some chocolate notes to it. A lot of people like Rooster, but I find it a little too oaky. It's good, just not what I like for in a snuff.

Except for a couple standouts, Americans are all fairly similar. They differ on the finer points, rather than being greatly different as English snuffs are.

For an American plain my favorite is Tops plain

IMHO it is the most complex and layered of the American plains

For an American Sweet try Tube Rose or Navy

Those are two very nice orders

On your next on work in some Molens (Dutch Windmill) Gingerbread

Sounds like you are off to a great start!!
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

There must be something wrong with me... I only like German and Dutch snuff's. I can't stand those "fine dry powder" snuffs. If it wasn't for Poschl snuffs, I would have given up on them long ago.

Oh... and dog... you are right... the Molens Gingerbread is FANTASTIC!

This just really makes me happy to hear. I love it when people take the snuff plunge and enjoy it as much as me. My nic tolerance is wacked I believe. I take a pinch every time I put a snus in and now lately one or two times during. It's a fun combo I must say.
