Well for me at least, the first snuff of the day usually gives me a nice feeling... but my problem is that I have a nice little tolerance to nicotine. I got into snus just before the PACT Act hit us, and I haven't been able to purchase any since literally New Year's Eve almost a year ago. Nowadays I just opt for the $1.80 tin of Stokers dip as opposed to the $4-5.00 can of snus. Anyway, I just recently found my kinda old stash of snuffs and I've been using pretty heavily for the past week or so. If snuff was the only type of tobacco consumed, it'd probably give me a nice buzz more frequently. Right now, it just kind of takes the edge off.

I'm a little piggy snuffing too. Partly I want to get the effect bigger plus be done so aim set longer. I do all three snus snuff and vape so the nose gets a break and the convenience of snus so so the every thing but the mouth gets a break and the vape so I get a break period.

I could easily... ok, not easily, but I think I could actually quit snus with snuff. The problem is for me though that it's kind of messy. The snuff travels down my throat sooner or later, so I have to clear it for like an half-hour every 5 minutes until it's gone. And that's just with my minimal snuff intake. When I do take it, I take pretty large pinches, but my daily consumption I would say is not even a gram of it. Maybe 0,1-0,3g or so. If I were to do it full time, I probably would use 4 grams of the stuff. Can't imagine how red and irritated my nose would be after all the wiping and blowing.

That's why I mostly do snuff at home, with friends, or outside on walks, and not in school.

I take quite a lot in a gentle sniff and definately get a buzz that closely resembles cigarette smoking.

D.White and Willy Pete give me serious OMG moments. Too bad they burn like hell and taste like ground cuttlefish.

For a kick I prefer WE Garrett snuff but 9/10 of snuffhounds seem to agree that F&T HDT is the king.

Which would you guys say is safer? I know snus is about as safe as a cup of coffee?

Oh. Nobody came and answered. Was checking to see opinions.i mean basically snus can recess the gums and mine get a little sore so that when I brush my teeth I need to be gentle. Since I like snuff better I pretty much do it more than snus. I wonder too if there is something waiting down at the end of a couple years use like. I avoid swallowing any post nasal drip after snuffing so I end up hawking and all that nose blowing....too bad huh. I'd rather take it in and just snort down the mucous explosion and be done with it. I feel like hawking it out. And blowing it out is preventative but I don't actually know. Maybe it's a waste time and a bother I don't need to continue. Just tek it in and leave it in. Drink refreshing water to wash down throat is all. See what I mean? So no "recessed gums" type nose problems? In my reading I've read of one. No problems except that it can cause cancer scares etc...

It changes the morphology of your nose (inside). http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/14561353/

Thanks for the article. Kinda took offense when they used the word snuff abuse. And can't quite relate to morphological changes in the nasal cavity and mucosa. Certainly doesn't seem any worse than like a cup of coffee like some people report. Seeing as how it isn't a subjective kind of thing and they say they haven't found a link to cancer so on and so forth. But how about personal experience with swelling the snort rather than blowing?

It always irritates my throat when I swallow (ha ha) - not just the drip, but when the flour gets in there sometimes. Sure doesn't taste as lovely as it smells. If I leave it in overnight, I end up blowing it out over the course of several days as it makes a sort of mucousplaster that holds pretty fast to the walls. If anything I'd think that that is tempting fate with longterm constant exposure.

Speaking of coffee, this Abraxas Cafe is friggin incredible.

The finer blends get right inside my chest. No matter what you do or how experienced you are it's happening......it is dust after all. Doesn't put me off the pleasure of it.

Good enough info for me! I'll continue blowing and some hawking. I do snuff up quite a lot at a time.

I'll also sniff softer on those kind...never even considered it gets in lungs. Can't be too careful; easy enough to do

                            I guess

I've been snuffing Indian white snuffs almost exclusively the last couple of weeks and funnily enough they no longer seem to hit my throat or lungs, even if I snuff them very hard. I'll feel a little tingle but no coughing fits. I'm sure some is still hitting the lungs, I guess my body is just used to it now.
