Viking Traditional English Snuff - Anybody had it ?

Has anybody had this snuff ... ?

The Viking Brown and/or Dark Traditional English Snuff … from …

    http://www.mysmokingshop.co.uk/index...man=451&cat=82

It’s marked as a replacement for Taxi Red, i'm really not sure if it's going to be THAT good, Taxi Red was wicked, i'd be as happy as a pig in shit if it's that good.

Taxi Red was my daily snuff until mysmokingshop were unable to supply it, I’m not sure why they stopped selling it, but I’d love to know, i should email them! Viking Snuff might be a brand name for snuffs produced for MySmokingShop, I could be wrong.

I’ve got two Viking Darks (the Taxi replacement), and one Viking Brown on the way, with a mixture of other bits and bobs. I’ll report back when I get it

I have a bit over a kilo of the Viking Dark. I love it.

Viking Brown is a little more course than the dark. I prefer Viking Dark. The brown has a similar grind to SG's Kendal. The general consensus is this is a contract brand made by Samuel Gawith. Same style of tin as Gawith uses.

I never had Taxi Red so I can't comment on it as a comparison.

The scent of viking dark reminds me of cigars and dark roast coffee, Has a little burn initially and is satisfying in the nicotine department. I can take the dark all day.

    Good snuff!

Thanks for that mate, I’m looking forward to it actually. I’m getting a bit fed up with all the fine, dry toasts. Don’t get me wrong, I like a good toast, but they can play hell with my sinuses, the bloody things are always blocked lately.

mysmokingshop had a link to it under the Taxi Red picture, that caught my eye, and I soon had an order in

I like both as they come but sometimes I'll put a tonquin bean in 25 grams or so of the Dark. Makes for a good change of pace. I'll probably try it with a vanilla bean one day as well.

By the way...Mr Snuff has Taxi Red in stock. I know mysmokingshop is generally less expensive but Mr Snuff has a lot on hand.
