    Stereolfactory

If you can already freeview cross-eye oriented stereo pairs, voilà! If not, I am not responsible for what pain you might endure in trying...

That's actually pretty cool. Did you take it with a 3D camera?

Thanks! Nah, just cha-cha'd a single camera since there's nothing moving. I do have a couple Canon A720s running chdk that I use for perfect sync.

What am I supposed to do to see it in 3D? Should I steal a pair of the glasses from a movie theater?

To see this in 3D, pick out a prominent feature like the blue stopper on the Poschl bottle, then slowly & only very slightly cross your eyes just until the 2 stoppers meet and become one, then re-focus on that. It's the opposite of those "Magic Eye" stereographs from the '80s, for which your eyes converge on a point farther out than the picture -- with this your eyes are converging on a point between this photo and you. That said, it is easier to do this the farther you are from the image.

Don't try this for long periods of time (headache), and be aware that 10%-20% of the world cannot see true stereo 3D for one reason or another (eye/nerve/brain problems, though other cues like motion parallax, obfuscation, perspective and shadow are still useable depth cues). In fact, here's an example of motion parallax giving a 3D-ish effect:

Yeah.....I don't think I can do it. At least in glasses. I will try it out with my contacts in tomorrow.

If you're near-sighted, take your glasses off and get closer.

                        what photo?
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Okay I am really good at those hidden picture cross-ed eyed 3d pictures, I can usually look at them and without even trying and see the 3d picture immediately upon looking at it, but I don't see shit in that picture of honey jars usualsuspects. What is it?

Just bottles of snuff -- there's nothing hidden, only +depth. The hidden pictures (stereographs) are almost always parallel format, so perhaps you tried to view it by looking past the screen. That will invert the depthiness, and hurt the brain. But if you're really viewing it cross-eyed and see the depth but are simply not impressed, well that's ok. I'm only doin' it for fun.

Ahh okay, I was starting to worry I had lost my ability to see those 3d ones (where you look past the image), but then I went back to the first page and saw that this wasn't that kind of picture. I meant it in the sense that I thought it was a hidden image kind of picture, not that the depth was off, I was just looking for something that wasn't there lol. Cool trick though I have never tried this before!

Hey what part of LA do you live in? I grew up in long beach and the San Fernando Valley, definately like Socal more than Norcal.
