No matter how hard I try I just cannot use a snuff spoon.

Now I haven't been using snuff near as long as using snus but I'm pretty sure my snuffing technique is ok because I can take snuff any way except this damn spoon.

About to just toss the damn thing.

When you use a spoon what happens? To far into the sinuses? Makes a mess? Not able to draw it? What?

I like a spoon, but I have found the best way to use it when I do (rare out of convenience issues) that the best way is to start drawing in as the spoon is approaching, not when it is already there.

Oh get gets drawn in, straight into the sinuses and back of the throat.
I will try your way and update when I get the chance.
I'm really not too worried about it and honestly find using a spoon a hassle compared to hitting it off the back of the hand or pinching.

I usually pinch. But a spoon is nice sometimes. Less stuff on the fingers. I just never remember to bring one with me so pinching still wins. I find with my method I tend to have more control with a spoon.

I dislike spoons. I have the same issue...pinch, back of hand or boxcar here.

I've tried snuff spoons, bullets, you name it. In the end, I prefer the good old thumb and forefinger pinch from the tin or a snuff box.

I can't use the bloody things either, I either miss my nose or hit the back of my head when I use it. When I do use it, it is for my F&T which are hard to pinch out of unless you pour some into the cap. In that case, I scoop some out of the tin and drop it on the back of my hand and go from there.

I use the spoon on a pipe tamper and it works great.

Tried it 3 times how devilock mentioned.

First time ended in failure with snuff all over my shirt.
Second time ended with me sneezing my brains out.
Third time we finally had success.

Still not sold on the spoon and I'm pretty sure since it's so small it will end up lost. I think I'll stick with my proven methods of pinching and if I have a tap box it comes off the back of the hand.

Glad that method worked for you, eventually. I completely understand you gotta use what works best. The spoon for me is a rare thing. But it is nice at times. Just lacks in the convenience department.
