    My reviews of some snuffs

I'll start with Dholakia White. This is absurdly fine. I can sniff a scotch or a toast all day without any complaints but this snuff is finer than dust. Taste wise, it has the same sort of manure-y grassy hay-y notes that its cousin Black has. But I can't really handle enough of it in my nose to really appreciate the scent yet.

To sniff it I keep my mouth closed, take the tiniest pinch to my nose, then open my mouth with the lips still sealed to create a very slight vacuum. Then I rub my nose to kind of press the snuff into the side passages, then I blow my nose gently, and then don't breathe through my nose for a little bit. I also use the "more-clogged" of my two nostrils, if that makes sense, whereas with other snuffs I always sniff into the more open one. It is definitely the strongest snuff I've encountered though, a few pinches of this and I actually have some sort of body buzz, which doesn't generally happen to me.

F&T's Irish High Dry Toast - do I really need to reiterate how incredible this snuff is? It is my favorite of anything I've tried and I really don't see any other snuff taking its place. Just creamy, toasty, sweet Virginia tobacco. It reminds me of gingerbread and cinnamon, but it has no added flavoring. I could sniff this one for years without getting bored with it. I bought 50 grams and I'm already worried about it running out on me, that's how good it is. Not that it's close to running out, but I just want this one to always be in my rotation, it will be my go-to snuff.

Gawith's Original Kendal Brown - I was amazed at how coarse this snuff is! I opened the tin and it looked like a can of Copenhagen fine-cut honestly, it's that coarse. The flavor is a really musty earthy tobacco with a little spiciness. A musty smell is predominant though. It tingles a bit in the nose because of how coarse it is. I think I prefer finer snuffs than this honestly, I don't dis-like it but it feels weird in my nose.

F&T's Bordeaux - Eh what can I say it's a perfumey floral snuff. Those all start to blend together for me. I like it but it doesn't taste all that different from, say, Rose of Sharrow to me. One thing I love about perfumed snuffs is they really open up my nasal passages. It definitely has more to it than rose and violet but it will take me a while to really figure this one out.

Sharrow's Grand Cairo - an SP style snuff with some perfumey stuff added, maybe a hint of spices. It's good but doesn't really blow me away or anything. It's definitely a bit more interesting than plain old SP.

And that's that for now I'll probably post more as I get used to each of these. Right now my head's spinning a bit from trying them all one after the other like that, so I'm going to go for a walk

Oh man that IHT is good. I get coffee, chocolate, everything. It's like the Ettan's of the dry snuff world. I get those same kind of notes with American scotches but the campfire smell is definitely predominant. The IHT is just toasty, it is perfect.

I get fresh buttered biscuits smell from it. It really is a must have snuff, a benchmark snuff.

I'm surprised Dholakia White isn't banned as a narcotic. The nicotine buzz from a few good pinches is literally comparable to a solid opiate buzz (not that anyone should ever mess around with opiates they are bad news bears). I basically just have to not breathe in through my nose for a bit after a pinch, I exhale from my nose until the dust is done spewing, then I can appreciate the flavor, which to me is just like Dholakia Black (i.e. awesome, like a sweet farm smell).

This stuff sounds like the sh**. I'm having some.

It's always fascinating to hear others opinions about snuff. Thanks horus.

I find the white good for conversation, but a bad choice for snuffing. That said, I had a pound of the white and a pound of the black, I was one of the first to ever get some, and I recently sold the pound of white to a fellow who was desperate for as much of the initial batch as he could get. So I made his day and sold it to him. It was very different from what is available now, fishy and still weaponized.

The white is pretty intense, the nic hit comes on very fast and hits you like an oden's extreme the first time you have one, doesn't half burn and sting though I find. Its very very very fine extreme so be careful

I have one of the flip top tins, just dug it out now, it is as good as I remember! Is there anywhere cheaper than Mr Snuff for it? I remember it was about £3 a tin last time I got some on there then they added VAT! Gauntleys don't carry it as they are way cheaper for snuff than Mr Snuff.

I don't like snussing whilst drinking beer so I snuff, and boy I'm working through my snuff box tonight - it's grown to ecstatic proportions.

Well you have a snuff with a high nicotine content, then grind it into a vapor, that lets all of the nicotine scramble in at once. I like the way the tub I had would smoke when opened, you could put a firecracker in it and render the entire area off limits for quite some time! Better than tear gas! Everybody should try it just to get an idea of what an Extreme snuff can be.

Well Bud, I would love to get a photo of you just after you try it for the first time! About 1/3 of a second after! Be careful! And I guarantee you will never forget this one! It takes the very best of control to master it. Good luck and enjoy!
May I recommend, McCrystals Hopfen Schnupt- beer hops.

and a favorite of mine- Samuel Gawith SP NO.1 High Mill, not the NO.1 high mill, The SP No.1 High Mill. It is confusing and some sammy's are weird, But this one is in a class of its own.
