    Violent Sneezing?

Newbie here. I have been snusing for awhile, and recently ordered my first snuff.

I have terrible allergies. I use prescription nasal spray for them, and it keeps them under control. When I tried using snuff, my body reacted as it would if I were to put my whole face onto a cat and inhale deeply - I sneezed furiously.

I read enough to know that you don't want to snort snuff, rather, you should only sniff lightly. The Ozona Presidente does have a wonderful metholated effect. However, I'm not really getting nicotine like I do with snus...

Any advice would be most appreciated!

lick the tip of your little finger and dab it in the tobacco then put it right up into your nostril.

edit: is one way you can do it.

In my personal experience I have to take a VERY uncomfortably large amount of snuff to get a nic hit. I recommend you use snus for your nic cravings and just a little bit of snuff for the aroma.
I gently press my finger in the snuff then sniff it as gently as possible, you want the snuff inside your nose, not into the back of your throat.
If you can hear yourself sniffing, you're doing it too hard.

I'm sure there are many people who can comfortably take large amounts and sniff as hard as they want, I'm just telling you what has worked best for myself.

Its entirely normal to sneeze when you first take snuff, just keep taking it and the urge passes, some of the finer ones still make me sneeze if I take too much and I have been taking snuff for over 15 years. Chasing the dragon with nic hits isn't worth it, snuff will give you a more instant nic release over snus, as in it takes away the craving. Some of the more powerful snuffs will make your heart beat faster but don't expect your head to go swimming, unless you sniff a gigantic spoonful of toque quit, dholakia white or viking dark, but then you will be crying so much you won't notice it lol.

You are getting nic with the snuff but its a different delivery than snus, president isn't what I would call a high nic snuff, its a perfect beginner snuff due to being slightly coarse and quite moist. A safe one to try if you are just starting, like menthol and want a nic punch is Wilsons Dynamite, if you want just an almost perfect snuff try Fribourgs Old Paris, high nic toque quit is good, its plain, but fine so not ideal if you are just starting.

            Violent Sneezing?

Newbie to snuff, here. I have been snusing for awhile, and recently ordered my first snuff, due to the unfortunate reality of invisalign braces. They just don't work well with snus, for obvious reasons.

I am doing that, generally to no avail. I tried using a snuff straw (putting snuff into a straw and then blowing it into my nose), and while that made the snuff distribute more evenly, it didn't really affect the sneezing.

So my issue is this: when will this go away? I got my snuff on Monday:

            De Kralingse Macuba 12.5g
            De Kralingse Prins Regent 12.5g
            Ozona President 7g
            Poschl Bayern Prise Brasil 10g
            Poschl Gletscherprise 10g

The Poschl is definitely better, but they all seriously irritate my nose. I am inhaling correctly (almost not at all), and it's generally not going into my sinuses / throat. Will this get better? Or should I just give up?

It might take some practice before you get used to it. I didn't really have issues, but it doesn't sound out of line either. The De Kralingse tend to be burny, so I'd especially understand in their case. Stick with the German snuffs for awhile. The Bayern Prise should probably be the easiest to take.

Many thanks. I am learning it bit by bit. The Prins Regent is actually amazing. I just have to be reaaaally careful to barely inhale at all.

I think snuff might even help with allergies a bit, because it seems to form a barrier. If I go anytime without snuff, that's when I notice an irritation. Snuff will make me sneeze, but not when I take it. As well, the menthols (especially Poschl) can stuff me up if I use too much. So be aware of that. I like to stick with Toque 95% of the time, because they're all natural and give me very few problems, outside of their Berwick Brown. I'd give it some time, see if your nose adjusts, before giving it up. I love snuff, and I have specific cravings just for snuff, regardless of what snus I might be using. You should definitely just enjoy it for the scents and the relaxing feel it provides.
