Hey! quick question for you folks doing Snuff...

What's you average daily consumption? If you can, how many grams per day? Also, can you guess how long would it take you to finish a 10 gm. tin?

I'm asking here for a reason... so please don't tell me to check it out at Snuffhouse.

Average - for me: about 4 portions (I smoke still, so I am not the best surveyee [is that a word?])

Maybe 2 - 3 grams at the most. About 1 - 2 grams on average.

Still trying to find the right one but seems using a lot clogs my sinuses up and i cant breathe, so I have kinda taken a break from it.

I vary between 4 - 15 'pinches' a day as I snus mostly. No idea how many grams that is, probably less than one

I'd say about a gram a day. It's hard to tell since I use snuff like I do snus. I have about 30 different snuffs atm, and I go through them all throughout the week.

Whew!! I thought it was only me having that issue Grim! I started out using about 2 grams a day and, it began clogging me up to the point even decongestant spray wouldn't open it up! Now, I just go with one flavor a day and, only about 5 pinches a day if that.

Well Rob, it varies quite a bit, but for the last week I've been sniffin pretty hard imo. I could finish 10 grams in 3-4 days I'd say, although I don't measure in and use so many different types it's difficult to estimate.

On a different, but perhaps related note, I've been wondering how much daily snuff it would take as a sole means of nicotine intake. I probably require at least 50mg of nicotine or so a day to maintain my usual intake. I don't know how many grams of snuff that would take and wonder if I could even physically handle that much powder! I wish there was more medical type info available on this stuff, most of what I've read is basically anecdotal. An enjoyable past time nevertheless.

When I use it, only maybe two sets a day (one set = a pinch for each nostril).

I'm an on and off tobacco user. One day I won't use any, the next I'll have a pipe, some snus, and some snuff, along with a little cigar or two 0.o

If I used the same 10g tin exclusively. I bet it would last me a week. I take maybe 6 times a day. A small bump into each side.

When I use dry snuff I take much smaller bumps compared to the Poschl's I use most of the day. Dry snuffs go too deep and I don't have enough experience with it to sniff right.

I would be surprised to see a can of snuff run out. Since I rotate so much it will take a while to kill one flavor. Hence the prices are even a better deal when the length of time you will have it to enjoy is figured in.

I used to buy a can every few years thinking maybe this time I'll get it, but never did. I had never even come close to finishing a can before. Suddenly this last time with Roderick's snuff I finally discovered how to do it. I've since finished a couple of Toque's 10g tins and am well on my way to finishing a 25g can of Whisky Honey. Point being, if you're not careful, you might just pick up another habit with this stuff!

RobME, when you've compiled enough info, are you gonna clue us in on your research here?

Thanks everyone! I appreciate it. FWIW, at the time I posted, I had no experience with snuff. You're all snussers and I am too. I thought I might get a general idea of how fast snuff is used up by folks like us.

I can get snus in about a week and I know how fast I use it. It took me almost three weeks to get-in my first order of snuff. I don't have much, but I see that with what's inbound... I'll probably have this sh%t on hand forever... or at least the next year.

Slow deliveries aside, my concerns were unfounded. Snuff is good though.
