    Nasal Snuff/ Texas, USA

Hi all, I've been reading these forums for a while now. I just purchased some snus (General Ekstra Sterk) and am enjoying it very much! (I've been dipping for about 2 years now). I was wondering if anyone here has used nasal snuff and American dip, and also how do the two compare? Also, where would I buy nasal snuff locally (Texas) if I can.

    Thanks all,
    ICS

If you are desperate to try nasal snuff, you can get a can of WE Garrett's snuff for like $3 at Albertsons.
It is pretty shitty, though it provides a huge amount of good 'ol vitamin N.

Oh, and did you get your snus online, or somewhere here?
I live in the DFW area.

I've seen that stuff at the HEB I used to work at, so I might just give it a try. I bought my snus online at northerner.com or something like that, can't remember exactly.

      Btw, I'm in Bryan/College Station

Don't base your opinion of Nasal Snuff on W.E. Garrett's alone! All American snuffs are a very fine, dry grind and is unique to American snuffs! You have to sniff these very lightly or, you'll get a burning sensation like you've never had before. It took me about a month to figure out just how lightly I need to sniff it. There are a great many types of nasal snuff out there but, unfortunately, very few are available locally. Toque Snuff is a snuff maker in England and is very good imo. There is an online snuff shop based in Florida as well. Tom is the owner and, his site offers sampler packs of snuffs to try so, you're not stuck with a bunch of snuff you don't care for. Here's the links to each of them:

        www.toquetobacco.com

        www.nicotinerush.com

        Hope this helps!

I agree with Woodstock! Toque is total magic in the nose, hardcore snuffers are amazed that Toque can compete with the established English snuff makers who have been around for 75 years or longer. Nicotine Rush is a very good site that just keeps getting better, and they sell Patrick Collins' amazing wooden snuff boxes.

try Wilson's of Sharrow Rum & Blackberry or Toque Christmas Pudding and you'll find yourself ignoring your snus.

            snuffy Canadian Eh!

            Yes....
I agree that English snuff is the Bomb!!!! ((Oh how COMMON of me))
            hehehe
www.snuffstore.co.uk will take you to the UK for some real shopping, friend.
I like Toque, bought a 25g can of the peppermint and it's lasting forEVER.
The Toque original, or, whatever, is a bit much for a beginner. Like the East Indian type called Dholakia, it's light, fine powdered and dry, and boy... if you take it in too fast or too much  it'll blow your ass off!!! no kidd'n It gave me an earache the first time I tried it.
I love the coarser, darker, old fashioned recipes like Fribourg&Treyer's "Princes Special", and Bespoke's "Stephen's Tipple"
Snuffstore's own "Blenders Bundle" is delightful. Also recommended is Galwith&hoggarth's Fine Dark (think the names right). Old school aromas that an old school guy can appreciate.
There's raspberry, floral scents (english rose is very nice), even toast and marmalade if you can believe it. But I keep going back to the more rich, traditional, originally blended tobacco recipes myself.
Mixtures of sweet pipe tobacco and fine cigars, AAAHHHHHHH!!!
And the stuff as elegant or modern as you want to go, is very affordable.
Like the others said, whether you take a pinch, use a bullet, or a rolled up bill, sniff NOT snort very lightly.

IMHO W.E. Garretts is actually really good. I just don't recommend for a first timer or it'll blow your skull clean off. Once you get used to it and learn some highly tuned nasal control, I'd give it a shot and you may find that you like it more.
