    Considering Nasal Snuff

I've been reading bits and pieces about nasal snuff on here and I have to say I'm intrigued. At first, I was a bit disturbed by the idea of sniffing it into the front of my nose, but tonight the idea started sounding sort of appealing.

I'm considering what to try and where best to get it from in the US. This is the first time I'm trying this, so I'd like something that's decent and rather tame so I don't burn my nose off! Any suggestions?

    - Wilsons of Sharrow Irish High Toast No. 22. Pure tobacco. Very easy on the nose.
    - Mc Chrystal's Original & Genuine. Maybe the best mentholated brand.
    - Mc Chrystal's S'nuff Smokers' Blend. Has a traditional "SP"-flavor from several mediterranean citrus-fruits (including bergamot, if my nose is right). Goes great with snus. Don't be fooled by the name though, a cigarette-like kick is not to be expected, it's not stronger than other snuff-brands.
    - De Kralingse Latakia AO 1860. Smells like fine, unflavored pipe tobacco.

I'm no big fan of flavored varieties and haven't tried American nasal snuffs yet.

    Cheers!

Bespoke - Stephans tripple - smells of mohagany(sp), sandelwood, and musk.

Gawith - Apricot - slightly mentholated with a hint of apricot.

Both are very mild on the nose with a low to medium nicotine hit.

Sounds like good suggestions. I may start with some Gawith Apricot since I've been seeing a lot of good things about it around different forums. I'll probably avoid American ones at first (or totally) since I've heard they're a bit stronger than most.

I used Dr. Rumleys and after they quit making it I used the Wilsons of sharrow menthol plus. All totaled for about 40 years. Recently I purchased a sampler pack of six of the american sweets and six of the american scotchs from the snuff store. I LOVE the american sweets. Check out NicotineRush and pick up a sample pack. Its a good way to try several for a cheap price. Good luck, PP

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Dholakia said they are sending me a sample pack and I requested one from Toque as well. Apparently Wilson's used to give samples, but don't anymore, although they have some that's pretty cheap.

I finally got hold of some decent snuff today. Apparently my local tobacco shop only had Ozona President, but it's not bad at all.

Oh that's good stuff Ozona President.

I got some Crumbs of Comfort recently. Surprisingly... wrigley-esque.

I ordered toque chocolate, peppermint and toffee.

I'm most interested in toffee as that's one of my favorite flavors in other things... anyway no other updates b/c I haven't gotten it yet.

The toffee is amazing stuff if you like toffee. Sweet but not too sweet, and toffee is an extremely complimentary scent for tobacco. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

I get paid on Friday and I plan on ordering a nice variety of different snuffs to sample. I'm definitely getting the #22 high dry toast, and some of the others recommended both here and on snuffhouse forums.

The #22 is a very good plain toast. Be careful with it though, it is no president, you will likely be coughing and sneezing at first, but you will get used to it as your technique gets better. I think you will find it to be worth the effort though!!

Yeah, I know you have to be a lot more careful and snuff slower with the dry ones.

Watch out for Dholakia Sparrow Cool. Give your pinky a lick, roll in in the wicked stuff and inhale very gently. Dholakia SC is a mean bastard of a snuff.
