69 yr old woman develops cancer after 30 years of snuff use. 1st reported case of snuff causing cancer in the last two centuries!!!
Is there any way to read the full report? The details can make a huge difference. I'd be interested to see what kind of snuff she used. Eg pure tobacco, or some kind of weird ethnic blend.

I can't do it from my apartment, but I'll see if I can download it tomorrow from school (they pay for viewing rights of all online medical journals).

Regardless of what the details said.

1st reported cancer from snuff in two centuries??? Heck, more people get cancer from planting roses.

Kinda proves the point about snuff's safety.

Anyone who is new to Snuff, I recommend that you follow this link

          http://snuffhouse.org/discussion/17/faq/

It is from the snuffhouse.org forum, a forum similar to this one but focusing on snuff.

At the bottom of the page is a link to a Beginner's Guide to Snuff (it’s a Pdf file). I found it very helpful on how to properly take snuff.

I've just recently started with snuff and must say that I absolutely love it. As with sagedil, snus is my mainstay but snuff has become a close second. I love the bump that it gives to a pris that has been in a while. And oh my the flavors are incredible

Toque Whiskey and Honey is absolutely heavenly.
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Was my first and still favorite!!!

And echo what Snusdog sad about snuffouse.org. Although I got some great help here, I also read the new users guide as well. Very helpful. A lot of good folks there, and quite a few of us from here as well.

              Ok now for some clarification:
This is the first case of nasal turbinate (anatomic part of the nose) reported in 200 years. Some other studies speculate nasal snuff may induce oral/other cancer. There are also several studies showing that constant infusion of mice, which I am sure means they are practically bathed in snuff, induces cancer.

In this particular case the woman abused nasal snuff for 30 yrs at more than 2 grams/day :!: :!: :!:

She got a tumor had it removed, got a prosthesis didn't like it, and got a nasal reconstruction. She has remained cancer free from that point.

Additionally it is mentioned that 1 gm of dry snuff has more TSNA than 1 cigarette.

lxskllr if you want me to send you the article send me a pm with your email address.

Just out of curiosity has anyone had any issues with police at bars or superiors at work questioning your usage of snuff or related tools like the bullet. I just feel like people associate anything sniffed/snorted with hard drugs. If so has this caused any issues? I like it but am hesitant to use in public where I imagine I would get questioned and be frowned upon, much more than I would for smoking.

Ah the beauty of snus, quick insertion under lip and off I go!

Everyone else's posts seem to have answered the what and how of using snuff. I find the buzz to be the biggest difference. With snus I feel like I'm drinking a beer, or taking a shot. With snuff it does remind me a little of speed. When I snuff I take about a 1/4g pile of flavored, or 1/8g pile of american scotch. I do it every ten minutes and within an hour it is a little like being coked up, but LEGAL . It does make me a little anxious and there's less euphoria than from illicit snorts. That's when I take a benzo to calm down. Snuff is my nighttime thing to keep me away from the illegal drugs, and then I normally go to sleep with a portion in my mouth.

I answered this earlier. Yes, I have gotten some strange looks. I have often had to explain that, no, it was NOT brown cocaine. I then explain what it is and it has led to some great discussions about snuff, snus, harm reduction and such. I have even had a few folks ask to try it.

I forget now, and it takes me a moment to read people's faces before I realize what they are thinking. But it is always fun.

Then again, I have always been someone who loves being the center of attention, who loves being different, so that works for me.

I have a huge crush on a total cutie I just met recently, but she is way, way to young for me. The last time I saw her at my cafe, I was hoping she would notice my snuff and ask, just an excuse to talk. Not only did she notice, she turned to me and asked me if that was snuff. turns out she knew exactly what it was, had family that used it. So it worked and we had a wonderful conversation.

Draquix, I am an old meth head, from back in the late 80's. I think that may have something to do with why i like it so much, as putting drugs up my nose was always a pleasant, if not exactly a healthy experience. I agree, it is a great body high. The few times I have really maxed out on it, I definitely was feeling all good. Fortunately, I just don't get any anxiety or such from things like this. But most of the time, I just do a bump every hour or two. i use it as much for the flavor rush as the effect from the nicotine

I too use both snus and snuff and, as has been said by others, they really do go well together.

Whilst snus is good for maintaining a level nicotine level, there is nothing (other than a real cigarette of course) for that "oh man, that's good" feeling that snuff can give. And so many flavours (? scents) too, collecting different sorts can become just as bad a habit as trying out new snus flavours. [Cigarettes seem so boring by comparison.]

If sneezing is a problem try a moist blend.

For maximum sensation I favour Hedges 'The Snuff' L260 - serious menthol, very fine, quite moist.

                      Others to recommend are:
Samuel Gawith black coffee - course but a good flavour/scent (more coffee than Toque espresso)
Toque chocolate - a bit dry but the chocolate is there quite well
Dholakia Ganja (no, not that type of ganja) - ultra rose/flowery

Bullets are definitely the way to go, makes taking snuff so easy - no mess, quick and discrete.

Using a bullet makes it look like a nasal inhaler of the sort people use for colds and stuff. I've used one quite openly in Bangkok airport - no-one batted an eyelid (except my friend who just about had a heart attack because she knew what I was doing.)

I carry a bullet, but don't use it as such as the dose is too small. But I have found a bullet is the most convenient way to carry, and to pour out a proper dose on the webbing between my thumb and fore finger.

So kinda obvious I am sniffing something in to my nose. But again, I love attention so always good.

My gosh man! Is it normal to take 1/4 gram snuff at a time. I only need a tiny bit. If you don't mind my asking how frequently do you have to use a benzo to come down off the snuff?

Unfortunately, now that I am in my 40's, some rules have changed. I simply will not chase after a 21 or 22 year old. Just to skanky for me. However, since I am kinda old, I can't run very fast. So if a 21 year old decides to chase me, she will fortunately catch me.
