Ok I have several posts by sage and others on snuff. I didn't become inerested until I had already placed my order. I picked up a can of something called American Peach Sweet Snuff. Is the same type of stuff that is advertised on the different sites as nasal snuff?

I too started with American snuff and I still love it. However there is a wide world of snuff out there. I would recommend you try some of the other varieties.
1. Whisky and Honey (made by Toque) is what they call a toast. Toasts are similar to American snuff in that they are dry and finely ground. However, toasts seem to have less burn and more of a toasted nutty taste that I love. Whiskey and Honey is my go to snuff.
2. Next is an SP snuff. SP stands for Spanish and tend to be flavored with citrus. Toque original is a great example of an SP
3. Next are the floral or perfumed Snuffs (more typical of the French influence). Fribourg & Treyer Kendal Brown is a good representative and is growing on me with every use.
4. Next are the dessert snuffs. These tend to be sweeter and flavored with everything from mint to chocolate to coffee. Wilsons Lemon Grove is a great snuff under this category. It is not overly sweet, has a rich tobacco flavor and is #2 on my go to list.
5. Finally there are medicated snuffs these are snuffs that use menthol in their flavoring. Packard’s Club Snuff is a wonderful example and very very easy to take.
Also, let me recommend two sites: snuffhouse.org and snuffreviews.com. Snuffhouse is a forum like this one but for snuff (you will find many of our folks from snuson posting over there as well). Snuffreviews is just what it says- a list of reviews of various snuffs listed by their brand.
Finally Northerner.com and Nicotine Rush.com both have an excellent selection of snuffs and offer great customer service.
Hope this helps and may your lip and nose always be fullWhen it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Definitely pick up some Toque. Roderick pokes his head in here occasionally, and s active on snuffhouse.org. I just think the Toque is about the most accessible snuff for a newbie,. The Whiskey and Honey that was mentioned earler was my first and still favorite,. But I use about 10 others in rotation now.
You can get it from toque directly at toque .com, or nicotinerush.com is even faster. Also available at Northerner now.
I have tried about 6 other brands now, and toque still my favorite by leaps and bounds.

FUBAR grunt has a plain tobacco taste with a hint of coconut and a HELLUVA strong nic-kick...

Whiskey & Honey
Champagne
Bourbon
Toffee
Espresso
Blueberry
Raspberry
Pomegranate
A bullet is a must for me, but not to use as such. Just the best way I have found to carry snuff. I then open it, and pour a bit on the webbing between my thumb and forefinger. This works best for me. I suppose if I ever found a suitable metal cylinder container, I might use that, but bullets are cheap and hold just the right amount to get me through one or two days. I actually have two, as I carry two flavors at all times. A fruity snuff, and a non fruit flavored one.
I do have a beautiful wood snuff box I use at home sometimes. Given to me by special person. But I can't carry that, no way to keep it closed. So yes, I love my bullet. But won't work to give you a usable dose as a bullet. But most excellent carry case that makes it easy to pour the right amount too.

I think Toque Chocolate is probably the easiest of the Toque flavors to snuff and Espresso/Peanut Butter are pretty smooth also. Champagne is an amazingly authentic flavor as is Grapefruit,I always have to think,OK how'd he come up with this? If you're a citrus fan,St Clements has a fantastic orange with a hint of lemon flavor. I think I've tried all the Toque non-menthol flavors and my favorite is Spanish Gem followed by Whisky & Honey,St Clements and Original. The only one I really don't like is Cherry, though I do have a hit of Cherry-Menthol occasionally.
McChrystals Apricot and Mild Lemon are another two favorites as are Wilson Of Sharrows Apricot and Lemon Grove. WOS's New one,Peach Melba is pretty good though I would like to see a Toque Peach.
I've got a couple bullets and even after doing surgery on them they don't dispense enough for a decent snuff. I use Poschl dispenser type boxes and a double compartment snuffbox to tap from.

I like a variety of snuffs, but I have my favorites:
W.E. Garretts Scotch
Toque's Original
McCrystals Genuine and Original. (best mentholated, IMO)
Ozona's Raspberry.
But just like snus, snuff flavors are hits for some, and big misses for others. Trying new flavors is part of the fun!
Nicotine Rush has sample packs and "bundles" of snuff that are fun to try, so you might want to check them out.
And just remember:
It's OK to sneeze.
It's OK to blow your nose - but never use a white hankerchief.
( I purchased a few Desert Camo Hankies from Nicotine Rush. Very discreet...)

Just tell her that you HAVE to try all the different brands/flavors and the snuff [or snus] that you don't like you will put on the snus exchange so another nubie can try it and you can get alittle $ too. Even if you do get some sold, at least you won't lose as much $. Works for me and I've tried just about every snus and about 25% of the snuff available. The snus exchange was a dam good idea. I wonder who thought of that? It must have been a very bright person. 8)
I really like the american sweets the most. Particularilly the Buttercup and Honey Bee. And only about 5 or the european snuffs. Oddly enough, I'm not fond of Toque. It does not give me much of a nic hit and its the only brand that gives me headaches. Although it seems that just about everyone else loves it. Obviously everyone else is wrong.Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......
I've been wrong lots of times. Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
