Nope, you're not the only one that enjoys Inchkenneth. I did pick up a tin of it after you recommended it over on the e-cig forum. While I don't use it every day, I do take it out a few times a week! Maybe I'll use it now since I'm thinking of it :P Yup, there we go...smells so nice

As far as the Quit snuffs go, I personally use them quite a bit...and at 99 cents (including bullet), they're a steal! Very good stuff for that price and very easy to snuff. They're even less with the codes at mrsnuff.com, which are DC10 for 10% off or DCYahoo for 20% off of orders over $20.

Another little "hidden gem" I've found is Lotzbeck Vanilla. I've been throwing a tin of something different when I order from mrsnuff.com and one time it was that. Glad I did!

That looks like a good order. A little heavy on the Pöschl perhaps, but very good.

Thanks, I hear good stuff about so many snuffs, I just ordered the Pöschl sampler. I already know this will be a slippery slope. The penut Butter has been recommended to me by 3 people. How is the nicotine levels with snuff? I was going to try the quit, but this is enough for starters.

The nicotine really isn't a heavy hitter, you can feel it if you do enough though. It's a different sensation than snus or cigarettes. More uplifting perhaps. I don't get heavy headed like I can with snus or cigs.

I think it would be easier to quit snus with snuff, than it would to quit cigs with snuff. I've gone hours with only a snuff tin, and wasn't really jonesing for snus. I'm not sure I could have done that when I was a smoker, but it's hard to tell at this point.

Just sent this order to mrsnuff...had to try those Coffee Bites that TropicalBob raves about you know  Was a little heavier than usual on the Wilson's, but they're all ones that sound good and I haven't tried yet. Only ones that are a re-order are the QWS and the McChrystal's Raspberry. The peach and vanilla were just too tempting, as well as the tangerine. Cinnamon just sounded interesting too!

              QWS Apricot
              QWS Ice Cool
              QWS Natural
              Wilson's Vanilla
              FUBAR Grunt
              Wow Coffee Bite
              Wilson's Cinnamon
              Wilson's Rose of Sharrow
              Wilson's Tangerine
              Wilson's Peach Melba
              McChrystal's Clove Sml
              McChrystal's Raspberry Sml

A little fruitier than I go for, but I see some on there I like. I'd be interested in hearing your opinion of the Wow coffee. I've had the QWS Irish Coffee, and find it very enjoyable.

Ok, I have been using snuff more and more as of late, and I wanted to share my experiences with everyone. Mind you, these are my own impressions and opinions and as well all know, these can greatly vary from person to person.

                  Non-menthols

Toque Original – I really enjoy this. It’s my favorite “plain” non-mentholated snuff at the moment. I have not got tired of it, but because of all the varieties that I have been trying out, sometimes I don’t use it all day. I will definitely get more of this when the time comes when the tin is empty. I am thankful I got the 25g tin.

Toque Rose – If you like Roses, this will be good for you. However, it is very strong. You will not notice any tobacco because of the perfume scent of roses in this one. If you are one of those people that want a scent to overpower them the way in which that carpet freshener powder does to a room, then this is for you.

Toque Lavender – Same situation as Toque Rose, but with Lavender.

Toque Violet – Same situation as Toque Rose and Lavender, but with Violet.

Toque Coke – I had originally ordered a mini bullet of this and I found it pretty fascinating. I reminds me of cola, not Coke Cola, but a generic cola. Toque did an outstanding job in capturing the carbonation effect in the snuff, and that effect actually mutes the burn of the tobacco a bit. It is very reminiscent of the old “Bottle Caps” candy, but not as sweet. I would recommend this to people.

Toque Blueberry – Very mild blueberry scent, sometimes I can barely even make it out. If you like the mild fragrance, with that Toque Natural taste, then this would be a recommendation. I don’t use this one all too often because it just didn’t impress me.

Toque Vanilla – I really enjoy this one. It has a very mild vanilla flavor to it that sticks out, but does not overpower the tobacco taste. This is another that can be an all day snuff.

Toque Whiskey and Honey – I need more practice at taking this snuff, but the times that I do, I really enjoy this. I love the flavors it has to offer. And while most say they can really notice the honey scent in this, I am the opposite, and I notice that whiskey flavor more than anything. Very enjoyable snuff and a top recommendation from me. Not for a beginner like me, but good for when you get better at taking lighter sniffs.

Fribourg & Treyer Old Paris – Definitely not an all day snuff for me, but amazing as an occasional. Has an old furniture, leathery, old bookstore type of scent to it. Certain fragrances of snuffs can bring back memories and relax you, this is one of them. Has a pretty good burn but doesn’t travel far because of how coarse it is.

Fribourg & Treyer Santo Domingo – Same situation as Old Paris, as far as how I enjoy this and when, but with a more natural scent to it. I would say it reminds me of being out in the desert when it has just rained. It has a very earthy and soil like scent to it.

Lotzbeck Vanille – Traditional pipe tobacco at its finest. This reminds me significantly of I believe its called Captain Black pipe tobacco. When you first walk into a pip tobacco shop, this is the scent is gives you. It is very easy to take and this scent lasts quite a long time. I’ve had this scent linger for a good hour, and then when I go back outside it refreshes itself. Very nice, but once again, I couldn’t sniff this one all day because of how rich it is.

McChrystals Apricot – I was really looking forward to this after reading some reviews. One of the reviews I had read however, stated that it has two distinct scents. The first is fresh, almost candy like apricots. The second however, is old rotten apricots that have been lying on the ground for a bit. I couldn’t agree more. While the initial scent is very enjoyable, the second I walk outside I smell the rotten aroma. I was disappointed but have not given up on it.

Dholakia Swiss Chocolate – A very good beginner snuff, but be warned, snuff a little bit at a time. This stuff is pretty rich. If you absolutely love that aroma have a fresh baked chocolate cupcake shoved up your nostrils, this is perfect for you. However, I find myself mixing this with Toque Menthol for that Andes Mint type or snuff.

                  Menthols

Toque Blueberry Menthol – Same review with the Toque Blueberry as stated above, except mix is some Toque Menthol.

Toque Menthol – Basic menthol, but a little more difficult to take as I have noticed with most Toques. Granted, I am a newbie, but I find the Toque’s sometimes to be a little too dry and fine, even for the non-toasts.

McChrystals Original & Genuine – This is hands down the best non-flavored menthol snuff out there. It has a very good and smooth menthol kick to it, but one that doesn’t make your ears come to tears. You can instantly breathe clearly once you try this, and even while the menthol is still going, you can smell the fresh clean tobacco in this. To top it off, even after the menthol has faded in about 20-30 minutes, if you go outside you get a nice refreshed smell of a very fresh moist tobacco. This is my go-to snuff for non-flavored menthols. I will not be without this one. I can not bring myself to even mix this snuff with another to experiment with flavors, because I wouldn’t want to ruin just how good this is by itself.

Gawith Apricot – A good menthol snuff that adds just a hint of apricot in the flavor. The apricot becomes more noticeable as the snuff settles in. At first I was not able to notice the apricot in this, but after some time, it has become more and more clear to pick out from the menthol. A strong recommendation as far as flavored menthols from me.

Ozona Cherry – This is a very easy to take snuff. It has a good menthol flavor, and then the cherry kicks in. However, this cherry in my opinion tastes a bit too artificial. But, eventually it grows on you. I use this one every now and again.

Ozona Spearmint – Same menthol taste as the Cherry, but with spearmint. That being said, it is just not for me. I am not a big spearmint fan so I am plenty biased on this. However, still a good quality snuff for the spearmint fans out there.

Ozona Raspberry – Again, same Ozona menthol taste, but with raspberry. I would say this is my second favorite flavored menthol next to the Gawith Apricot which is also made by Poschl. The Ozona’s are easy to take and great for a beginner.

So, that’s it for my reviews. Like I have said, I am fairly new to nasal snuff. I have tried a few others such as Rooster and Wilson’s Irish Toast #22, but being so new I just can’t give them a fair review just yet from a newbie perspective. That being said, I like them both but have to give the Wilsons an edge on which is better in my opinion. The winner so far in texture has been McChrystals with a marginal lead in that category. As for flavor, Toque has a slight edge, but I was on the non perfumed scents they had a bit more kick to them.

                  Thanks!

Nice review, and well laid out. I agree with you on all the snuffs that I'm familiar with.

                    Edit:
Except for the Whisky/Honey. I get more honey than whisky :^P

See?! Most do. I guess maybe I am just lucky! At least in my opinion. The smell of whiskey in a snuff wins over honey for me.

I'm curious to try the bourbon. I'm waiting on Roderick to release the new snuffs that are in the wings, and I'm going to place a decent order.

The one I specifically remember is an HDT. There's a couple of others also I believe, but I'm very interested in the HDT.

I also want the Spanish Gem which is already out. It's modeled after Spanish Jewel which is a unofficial name given to a custom snuff made in the mountains of Spain by an 87yr old, who I believe was a retired snuff maker. I got a sample from a private trade, and it's very unique. Powerful nicotine, and a natural scent that smells kind of like sweat and chocolate :^D It doesn't sound that good, but it really is. I haven't had anything that comes close to it. I imagine the Toque won't be as strong in the nicotine, or as strongly scented, but I'm hoping it's close.

From what I have read about the true Spanish Gem, the Toque is more of a cover than a true replica. It does have a nice nic hit, a light sweetness, and a odd old socks scent, or maybe a hint of French cheese. It's pretty good, on my top 10 snuff list.

HDT is the one I'm waiting on, There is a Cheese & Bacon variety available through Toque directly. Roderick is debating making more of it. He has hinted there are 2-3 new types in the works, but is keeping his mouth shut about specifics.
