I always bought from MrSnuff.com. Cheaper shipping, and great service and a great selection.
He's my go-to guy too when it comes to snuff. I've sent 2 orders to nicotinerush, a couple directly to Toque, but the rest have all been through mrsnuff.
I haven't used him yet, but I agree. He comes highly recommended and participates at snuffhouse.org too.
My first MrSnuff order is in the mail. Hopefully the shipping is as fast as NR.
Both of these gentlemen have great reputations and carry a similar selection. If this order works out I'll probably split my orders between them.
I order my F&T snuffs from Northerner simply because they are 1/2 the price compared to any where else. I'm stocking up on HDT.
I was always happy with NicotineRush, but the new Florida tax laws mean I have pay exorbitant tobacco taxes to order from his Vero Beach, Fla., shop. Mr. Snuff, fortunately, is a good and viable alternative source of the snuff I use.
From what I can gather the US shops selling Toque tax the customer nearest to them the most, ie in the same state, yet out of state customers pay less tax. Is that correct?
Furthermore when customers buy from Toque direct they get a 15% discount (soon to be 17.5%) and even though we declare the tax to all of the correct tax authorities in the US none of our American customers in the last 3 years have paid tax on any of their purchases.
This appears most unfair on US retailers and begs the question is it cheaper for Americans to buy products from Europe than their own US retailers?
And true for tings beyond tobacco. But tobacco especially as there is more tban just sales tax.
But yes, buy something "in-state", I must pay both sales tax and any tobacco tax.
I buy from out of country, I am paying neither.
Reasons though the US is looking at passing the PACT act that will ban the mailing of tobacco through the US Postal service s ALL about stopping my ability to avoid paying local taxes. Uf I can't ecieve tobacco through the mail, then that means obviously, must buy locally and therefore pay all the taxes the govenment wants me to
We've looked at PACT, this is the most crazy act we've ever seen. They can't legislate foreign governments postal services. Remember prohibition, foreign ships like the Cutty Sark just ignored the law sat out at sea and deliveries just went underground.
Toque, the saddest thing is that present tax penalties are forcing the Mom&Pop tobacco shops out of business.
Standard practice now, for many tobacco users, is to order online. Cigs are ordered from Indian Reservations, protected from federal tax rules. Snus come from our Swedish suppliers. And snuff from all over -- anywhere but the tobacco shop down the street.
That's part of the reason PACT will pass. Ultimately, we are being driven into a single location, a store where nicotine and contents can be controlled in fully taxed products. No escaping taxes. No deliveries by postal or private services. No allowed payment methods for anything with tobacco. No online ordering.
This is the first non Toque snus I absolutely love. Snusdog, who was so kind and sent me some cans of retro also included a little Old paris for me to try as he remembered me asking questions about it. The descriptions I ha dread, tasting of an old library, had intrigued me. And I am here to say it is so much better than I even imagined. Might even take away the number one snuff spot for me.
And what makes me happiest is it is the first NON Toque snuff I love (even like really) and am glad to finally be able to broaden my horizons. I love my Toque and will pimp forever for it. But the snuff world is so big, it always bothered me I hadn't found a different snuff I liked. Not any more.
I already asked Snusdog for more recommendations of what other Fribourg & Treyer snuffs I might like. but want to ask here. I have a larger than normal snuff order going out Tuesday, and am open to adding a few more to it.
Strange, strange man you are, I couldn't imagine anyone not liking this. But I hear some people even like Level and General Wintergreen, so to each his own.
You are correct, my friend. I mispoke. I merely dislike Old Paris. Old Paris gets overpowering after a couple of sniffs. I despise French Carrotte. FC is a sandalwood base, and I can't stand sandalwood.
I agree General Wintergreen is awful, but my thoughts on Level will have to wait til my next order. With all the hate going on around here I owe it to the community to test it. I tried and liked Phantom when only one or two people here liked it...
I really like sandalwood, and I got some Gawith Hoggarth sandalwood snuff. It was way to overpowering. I felt like I was being suffocated when I used it :^D. I ended up mixing it down with some Superior American snuff, and it's much better. The Superior's sub standard imo, but it makes a nice blender to reduce the scent of overpowering snuffs.
