Let me just throw in another thing that I like about Toque snuff is the Bullet size they sell.
You get a chance to try out their flavors without buying a large tin, and you have a reusable mini-bullet when you're finished!

I haven't had Toque's bullets, but my one from Dholakia's almost unusable. It just doesn't provide enough snuff for a hit. I have a hard time complaining about the price of snuff. A 10g tin is so cheap, I consider that a trial size.

I appreciate all the great feedback! I have definately learned a lot in the past week or so! I was wondering if anyone could recommend some decent snus/snuff combinations whose flavors compliment each other?

The flavor sensations are just so different, it has never been an issue for me or something that I even thought I should think about.


I have a snus in 95% of the time when I snuff. But when I am snuffing, that flavor is so overwhelming for that moment or two I couldn't tell you what was in my mouth. My focus was just on the snuff.

Seriously, I love your product! And your business, you make a fine product and bend over backwards to keep your customers happy. I will continue to use Toque products until I can't anymore. Meaning I'm dead or the US gov decides to ban me from getting it.

I'm having trouble getting it right. I either end up with no noticable nic hit or the whole "omg omg" eyes watering nose burning "I think I'm gonna die" thing goin on. What am I doin wrong here guys? Maybe the wrong brand/product?

An easy way for beginners to get started is to wet/lick your thumb and fore finger before pinching as this adds moisture to your snuff and the added weight stops the snuff going to the back of your throat. Also taking your moist pinch and gently placing/rubbing it on either side of the septum works wonders and allows the beginner to take much larger pinches.

Try a good beginners snuff like Chocolate, Vanilla, Toffee or Peppermint.

Or wrong method. I can't pinch worth a crap. Every time I do, with most snuff, it shoots into my throat. I found that wrapping my forefinger around my thumb, creating a small "bowl" and sniffing from there make sit much easier. Plus I get more control of where the dose is going as opposed to using the back of my hand method.
I have found the course ground and wetter snuffs go easier. Bernard, Poschl, get schmalzers if you don't like menthol, Taxi are all pretty easy. Mars cigars carries a lot of these in the states. Dry snuffs are hardest to control. Start with small doses and work your way up.
Keep trying, it will come to you, just adjust your method. I needed to really pay attention to what I was doing with each sniff, just to learn what not to do next time.

I smoked menthols for probably 10 out of the 15 years or so I smoked, and my #1, go-to, can't-go-wrong snus is Catch Eucalyptus/Menthol. Dunno. just love menthol I guess. Is it gonna burn a new hole in my nose starting out? Or do people just dislike the menthol 'feel'?

It's just personal taste. I love menthol, but only the warmer types. Toque's isn't my favorite, as it seems too "simple" to me. Give McCrystal's Original & Genuine a try. That one has a great menthol character, that's quite complex.
