I gotta say though, when I first took some I was a little worried I had taken wood shavings. It has that smell of freshly burned wood to me for whatever reason. But once it's in there for a bit the more subtle smells come out.

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

And give yourself a week or two with it and it will keep tasting better and better.

I'm definitely not an expert but it won't hurt to open the tins. I'v probably got 50-60 open that I dip into occasionally, but if you're not going to rip through them fairly quickly its good to store them in air tight containers. I picked up a case of wide mouth canning jars for storage but Tupperware probably works just as well. I've been keeping mine in the fridge through the hot weather here but I really don't know if thats necessary.

I've found a few Sam Gawith snuffs I wouldn't want to do without, but Toque is my mainstay.

I think the Blast! Whisky Honey snuff is very good.

Not yet, but I am well into a tin of F&T Old Paris and F&T Santo Domingo. The Santo Domingo wins that one. Don't get me wrong, the Old Paris is really nice, but the Santo Domingo is just on another level in my opinion.

That is top of my list next snuff order I let myself make. Probably next order will just be F&T. Not much Toque left for me to try, and really, really liking the F&T. Not something though I would want to use all the time. A bit like Oynx that way. But a wonderful thing occasionally.

Sage F&T makes some pretty good snuffs especially considering how old many of the formulas are!

Somewhat surprisingly snuff freezes rather well. Always use freezer bags, just drop the tins, bags in and pop in the freezer.
A humidor is the best way of storing long term, if you can’t buy a cheap one try a kilnar jar.

                    Premium,
Have you tried our latest SP Extra, I think it might be right up you street. Also keep an eye out next month. The last 3 new flavours this year are being launched and again I think they’re your type of snuff.

Gee great Roderick. Are you ever gonna stop coming out with new flavors? I mean, I really should branch out at least just a bit. I mean, it's already Toque 18/others 3. But no, Toque comes out with new flavors and Sage has to run again buying them all up.

Thanks for the heads up on the new flavors. I'll keep a look-out for them. I guess I forgot to mention that, for me, Toques vanilla and chocolate are pretty good also. But I need a dry, fine snuff to keep from getting headaches. Keep in mind that the headaches are MY problem, not the snuffs.

Toque, you have done a wonderfull job of coming out with all the different flavors. Seems like anytime someone requests a new flavor, in a few months there it is in the Toque lineup. Congrats bud.

BTW, thanks for the samples of the Rose and Lavender. They make a great potpurrie. ]sp?[ I put them in my drawer and now it smells like a greenhouse in there ]or a funeral home[ . Ok it smells like a rose garden. Thanks?

sure glad no one has ever asked Toque to come up with a vaginal discharge flavored snuff..............yet

Please don't give Roderick ideas. Do I need to remind you what happened when someone jokingly suggested cheese and bacon??? Shudder.

                              Roderick

...you've got another loyal customer....thanks to some generosity from some fellow snusoners, a few orders by myself and a ton of testing.
I received and ordered several samplers from all over the place..McCrystals, Wilsons, an American sampler and on and on. Mind you, I've only added snuff to the repertoire in the month or so. In that time trying a bit of everything to get a feel for it.

I should have just went with my gut and the many reviews and recommendations I've seen here and elsewhere. Toque is by far my favorite at this point. I'm going to focus there for a while and just enjoy. Between trying all the flavors I've yet to order or try yet and then mixing those down the road...I'm sure I'm good to go for quite some time. Kudos and thanks!

mlkramer, I still think you did it the right way. Early on, I tried all over the place, but just kept finding i only really liked the Toque. But that made me even more fierce in my loyalty as I had tried others, I knew exactly why I liked Toque so much.

I would suggest, eventually, you give some F&T a try. Finally, the only "other" I really like too.
