Nasal Snuff

I take it you have been using snuff for a while?? As always say, I think the Toque is the most accessible snuff for a newbie. There are others I have tried that suspect I will come to love as I gain more experience.

Toque

I've been snuffing for a couple of years. Many people rave about Toque and say it's easy to take and has interesting flavours.

I have tried about 10 different Toques and I find they are difficult to take, make me sneeze more than others and I think the flavours are, not bland, but, too simple, too sweet.

If I wanted a snuff, they wouldn't be the last thing on my mind but they're close. The last thing would be a menthol.

I don't understand what seems to me to be the widespread popular support for Toque. I would much rather have a pinch of almost any Fribourg and Treyer or perhaps some Bespoke which I find easy to snuff and very pleasant in my nose.

Now obviously Toque has many fans and they must be doing something right, but not for me. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Snuffery is in the nose of the snuffer.

As is snus. Most people rave about General, I have never liked it. Just me I guess.

I'm glad there are some people out there who don't like my work. It would be a very dull world if we were all identical. Fortunately Toque’s a bit like ice-cream, not everyone likes it, but 90% do! The funny thing is we see a lot of posts from people who say I didn't like A or B, but I tried it again and now it's my go to snuff.

The great thing about this site is that everyone is able to express their opinion and do so with tact and respect for others. Not often the case on other non Snus/snuff forums.

True and as I have a whole load of it I'll keep trying it. Maybe my nose just needs to learn, it's just that I find the opposite to other people about it being easy to snuff and other snuffs others rate as difficult I have no problem with. I may simply be a freak.

Yes and my opinion should not be taken to mean there is anything wrong with Toque or that it should not be tried, it should definitely be tried if for no other reason than it's different and even I can tell that it's of a high quality (just for me it's like a high quality stab in the face).

I guess others have their opinion, and generally most seem to be fond of them, but I personally cannot stand bullets. It just seems like so much work when I can just open my snuff box and pull out a pinch. I suppose they could be useful for cooks, mechanics and other people who's hands are dirty through most of their day, as it that small bit of extra work would be negated by having to run wash and dry your hands a dozen times a day.

Again, I don't use my bullet as such. Just THE most convenient way to carry what snuff I want to use. I unscrew the top, pour out what I want to use on my hand, and snuff, and screw it back up and slip it in my pocket.

I have a beautiful snuff box. But the top just slides and will slide open if It was in my pocket. So for me, bullet just way better than carrying tins of snuff, no mess, no wastage.

But the snuff box was a gift, and stunning, so do use it at home often.

I like Poschl and also I tried the Grunt FUBAR (nice smell and good nic hit).

I ordered some free samples of Toque from a website a long time ago but never got them. I did get a free sample from Nicotine Express and was able to try the Toque Espresso. It was pretty good IMO. I haven't tried any more Toque however.

One thing I do know, as a newbie I tried some W.E. Garrett & Sons Scotch snuff and it put me on my ass! That was some strong stuff and I smelled it from the night I tried it till the next morning. I could blow my nose but still smelled that hickory smokiness. Good times, good times.

I love the smell of W.E. Garrett. I have not found a "softer" European equivalent, but I would be very happy if there was. I am just not fond of how harsh it is. After several attempts when I first started (and many occasions of having a red face with tears streaming down my eyes), I finally found a method to slowly and softly sniff it that did not blow me out of the water. I still love it, though.

See, that is typical of a lot of the established snuffs. Not a problem, but kinda hard for a newbie. Only reason I tend to steer newbie to Toque is it is just SO much easier to take, as I am fond of saying, it is really accessible for the newbie.

I still have my FUBAR on my shelf and am planning on revisiting. So far, the only snuff I hate is anything with menthol.

Try F&T or Wilsons IHT. They aren't as smoky, but are in the same vein. They also don't require quite as much care in taking, but they are finer than the typical English snuff.

HEY!!! Let me make this perfectly clear. Toque is a great snuff. Most everyone loves it. But just not me. My tastes don't seem to like what most others do. As with OR coffe/vanilla snus.....who the hell else loves it like me? Probably no one. This is only the second time that I have posted that I'm not fond of Toque. I was hoping that Roderick wouldn't see my post but hes been lurking again I see. [you should post more] I do keep the Toque chocolate and vanilla for ocassional use. And how can you go wrong with Toques free shipping?

My advice for everyone is to keep trying all the different snuff and snus flavors untill you find what you like. And if there is some that you aren't fond of just wait a month or so and try them again.

Hell I haven't tried a few of Rodericks newer snuff flavors so I'm going to order them RIGHT NOW.

I’m always lurking (that sounds terrible) but until we perfect ‘Toque Snus’ I respectfully restrain from over posting as it might appear commercially meditated. I do jump in when it’s snuff related though.
