    can nasal snuff cut it?

I know some of you are regular nasal nicotine users, can snuff ever fulfill your nicotine needs?

I've just been thinking alot about my personal health/habits and how my nose could take alot more abuse than my mouth in the long run.

when I used snuff in the past, it was regular strength toque, and it wore off in like 20 mins. I couldn't use it at work. and it just increased my snus use as well.

is there some high-nicotine brand that lasts for an hour or so? or is that just not meant to be?

This is something that I am intrested in finding out as well deebocools.
When I started using snus it was in an effort to quit cigarettes and that worked! So now I have been wondering when snus was going to be the next thing I give up and I feel the time is here!
From a logical viewpoint, I see nasal snuff as being relatively harmless even compared to snus which is semi-proven to be as well. But, the big thing about nasal snuff is that the nic content is generally so low I don't see it as being somethin I HAVE to have unlike with snus which has gradually started to become like cigarettesm, where I HAVE to it.

Basically I want a tobacco product i can always enjoy but that is light in the nic department LOL!!

Now as for the advantages of nasal snuff versus snus. I can't lie I have also noticed my teeth are yellower than when I smoked! I havent had a problem with mouth sores though. So I think I'd rather have brown snot than yellow teeth right now as my gf doesnt find the teeth attractive.
In the end, I don't think this has anything to do with teeth or health it has to due with me wanting to still be able to use a tobacco product that is not as potent in the nicotine departmen is even more inexpensive than snus and is readily available in abundance of brands and flavors it will take me a while to get threw them all LOL.

Nasal snuff was too much trouble -- until I bought a snuff bullet. Now, I use that at least once an hour, often every 30 minutes. The stuff is just so delightful that it's almost edible! I snuff anywhere (it takes two seconds to fill both nostrils and bullets look like the Vicks inhalers used by those with a stuffy nose).

The problem with high-nic snuff is that it burns like crazy. Yes, you might adjust to that, but it burns like crazy, makes you sneeze and your eyes water. Plus, I haven't found one that smells/tastes great. So I prefer medium strength snuffs, with great aroma and taste, compatible with food and drink.

Each to his/her own, but I'm really loving Dholakia's snuffs. To hardcore snuffers, Toque is The Stuff, it seems. To me, it was almost always too rough on my nose.

We're about to launch 3 more flavours next month and I can tell you one of them is an extra strong snuff. It's for those who don't like to pinch as often, but want an extra strong hit of nicotine. It's also very smooth with minimum burn.

I think with some self control you can switch to nasal snuff. In the past I've forgotten to take snus with me, but had snuff on hand. I wasn't particularly uncomfortable, even after a few hours. I think going all day, or multiple days may be a small problem, but not so bad.

I don't care for bullets, but that's personal preference. They certainly are convenient. If nothing else, it's cheap to try, and if you couldn't quit snus, snuff makes a nice addition to the tobacco roster.

I find a good pinch of snuff lasts about as long as a smoke. 2-4 pinches an hour would keep me sane. Not happy, but sane. I use snuff to get a quick fix. I use snus to keep the hit going.

I think it's all a matter of what works for you.

For me, snuff is a supplement for snus. I use it purely for the flavor snd the small rush I get. It just doesn't cut it for me in the nic department. I suppose I could work my way down to it and use just snuff, but for now my nic tolerance is just too high!

Just my .02! And I wish you luck in your endeavor! 8)

I think I differ from the majority here because I was never a smoker. Smokers accept the cig-break as part of their day, so a snuff break is even quicker. However, The snus break is even shorter- you just put it in your mouth.

snuff, in my case, has to be done at least every half hour, and when I need it most(at work) I can't be using it.

I'm excited about the new toque- if snuff didn't dissipate so quickly I would love to use it- I like the ritual, just not so often.

You might try some of the American Scotches. Rooster and Three Thistle Strong both have a big punch.

On another note, very exciting about Toque making something new and extra punchy!

I think I will pick up some rooster.

I've already cut back to not being a chain user of nicotine, so if a strong snuff could be used in between my 4-hour stretches at work I'd be a happy man with much more money.

I could not put it better. The only thing I would add is that when you are on the go, a bullet is essential. I don't sniff from the bullet however, I only use it to measure a portion.

Once you start snuffing, you'll develop favorites. My "must haves" currently include:

Poschl's Gletscher Prise (nice easy to use tin)
Toque St. Clements (good orange flavor and nice nic hit)
Willson's Crumbs of Comfort Extra (fantastic spearmint flavor)

One final note... beware of the Rooster! It IS NOT for beginners. Yes, it packs a great nic hit, but if you have never used snuff, I would not recommend it as a starter.

wa3zrm and I are exactly the same, even use it the same way. Bullet just to carry and pour

Except I am a complete Toque whore. i have now tried at least 6 other brands, multiple snuff's from most, if not all. But ONLY use Toque, now up to almost 18 flavors when I get my next batch so kinda hard to get bored with it.

Snus is my base, snuff is my recreational use. That simple.

I find myself using this stuff more and more every day.....it's great in between prillas. That being said, I don't really see snuff as a replacement for anything else as far as I'm concerned; the nicotine hit just isn't great enough. Not to mention I would probably jam so much of it under my nose to compensate and end up having to power-flush my nostrils every night.

Interesting to see the different ways people are using the bullets, also. I've just been flipping it upside down, pulling out the stopper thing, putting it back in, and dumping the contents onto the back of my hand.
