Recommend a snuff for a noob

The Pöschls are easy to take imo. They have a couple with some kick, but the menthol's usually pretty mellow. Pöschl makes the kids snuff. Sweet, not complicated, but tasty on a basic level. Bernard is the German company for adults. Their snuff is also tasty, and it can be sweet, but it's more complicated, with a "grown up" taste.

Bernard huh. I'll have to remember that name. Since I'm just starting out, I need the "kid stuff'. Give me some more time, and I'll be ready for the "adult"! 8)

Vegan, the Bernard is a bit more complex, but actually the easiest snuff I have ever done. "kid stuff" implies the tastes are very direct, very "sweet". NOT that it is easy to take.

But start with the Toque, get comfortable, see what youa re liking, then branch out

Cool. Another question. Bullets. Are they refillable, or is it like a one shot deal?

Bullets are refillable, but I consider them almost worthless. They work best with the very fine snuffs, but even still, the hit isn't that good. I wouldn't get more than 1 bullet to try it out. You may end up loving them, but I doubt it.

I just carry the tins. I used to have a snuff box, but I promptly lost it. If I were the type to get get dressed up, I'd buy a nice sterling snuff box for a night out. As it is, I just use the tins. I did pick up a few "tins" of Robby's Top Mint snuff before it went out of production. They came in a very nice reusable plastic snuff box, so I put some of my snuffs in there. I've been meaning to write to Roderick and seeing if he could source those boxes. They would be ideal for Toque because they look nice, and are inexpensive.

I only order one bullet. So how do you guys carry your snuff around? You just carry the tins?

Vegan, I bought the glass and acrylic bullets that nicotine rush carries. DON'T use them as bullets per se, only purpose is to carry my snuff. They open easily, and I pour out onto my hand what I want to use, but far easier than carrying tins. I am just not a pincher.

By pincher you mean you pinch the snuff and put it on your hand? The few times I tried the WTF, I poured it out on the web of hand and snorted. Having a nose ring kinda hinders the process, but oh well.

Normally, if I pinch, I just snuff from my fingers. But having no nose ring, I prefer to snuff from the webbing between my thumb and fore finger. I like to use a lot of snuff, may take me three snuffs to get everything.

The bullet is just so convenient to pour out onto my hand whatever I want to use.

:shock: :shock: I got all "high" from just one sniff! I couldn't imagine three!! When my wife first started lurking snuson, she made the comment "you're not gonna get into snuff are you" I replied no way! I could never see myself doing that! My how that has changed.

Pinching snuff means you literally pinch with forefinger and thumb some snuff from an open container, and take that up to your nose, and snuff it in. The way I prefer to do snuff, is put some on the back of my hand, and do a sweeping sniff of it. There are tins and tubs, that open up and reveal the snuff that can be pinched straight to the nose, or placed on the hand, and there are tap containers, like the Poschls which are made to allow you to tap out some snuff on your hand.

Now I have a stockpile of snus for the mouth, snuff for the nose....and now pipe tobacco. Geez, what's next?
