OT You guys know me for snuff, but......

If I was going to make a Snus (and a few of you know I've been looking at this possibility) which Snus, from the existing makers, do you consider the best and ones I should add to my research library?

Also what flavours do you think are the best? Most popular, most under rated and most flavoursome.

I could spend a lot of money on a "Yes Team" who would tell me what they thought I'd like to hear, but I'd rather talk directly to my potential customers and get what they really want.

All I can say my all time favorite snus is Retro White.

But generally, I prefer just straight tobacco flavors for my snus. not much citrus. Not too strong, not to weak, just Retro. :lol:

Please make a los!!! I wouldn't go with the Bergamot flavor, everyone is making it, sure someone will buy a random tin then compare it to their favorite brand... and yours will get the boot. Also no wintergreen.

A pure tobacco (i mean just tobacco some salt perhaps some smoke or toasted tobacco) would please the purists.

As flavor goes, i would try a nice rum flavor, or a great wood like birch or Oak, perhaps a burnt almond with a smokey backdrop. A strong black coffee / expresso dark roast flavor would be swell!

For heavy flavors that would appeal to the people who enjoy the "candy" snus i would try coke, cherry, even peach (if you plan on trying to produce a los). i would stay out of the Anis/Licorice area since not many enjoy the taste and there are a lot of anis around.

I would love to be a tester :wink: :wink: even you all you plan on making was .... portions


As for grinds, i do prefer the more coarse of a cut like V2. The more popular being the fine grind though. Either way, you can't lose! I would stay away from the longcuts.

I'd buy a good coffee flavored snus. The Mocca Macchiato is ok, but I'd like something normal sized and with a richer flavor. As far as my current favorites, I like the LD Black, Thunder Frosted and Jakobsson's Ice Fruit. The Northerner Energy Snus is pretty good too, but much like the Mocca, the flavor could be a bit stronger.

Just an idea, but you could make a quality plain tobacco snus and sell flavorings. Kinda simplifies the whole thing.

Discreet's my fave here, but something that nobody seems to have is a plain vanilla flavored snus. I know there used to be a vanilla mint from Catch, but I never got to try that one. Just plain vanilla though would be kinda cool! 8)

Natural tobacco with some smoke, just not overdone. Toasted! Everyone and their mother is making bergamot, which is nice, but its overabundance needs to give way for more natural tobacco flavors.

I'd like to see a nice Charred Oak flavor. Similar to Copenhagen, but with non fermented tobacco and no sugar. Think Grov with attitude.

I like the classic flavor of bergamot best. For weird flavors, I'd like to see someone make a snus where the flavor's just hinted at, instead of being heavy. I'm not saying I'd buy it, but I'd be interested in trying it.

I;d really like to see a Lucky Strike flavor and on the snuff side an Ettan snus flavor. Thats all I need. And this thermos...
