Toque's new Natural Toast

Still a perfect track record with me as far as Toque's snuffs go...this one was also very good! A little finer than most of theirs, and I got a little american snuff-like bbq flavor in the background of it. Not overpowering, just a perfect amount of it. So I can still say "I haven't met a Toque I didn't like" :wink:

Finally picked up the Rose snuff too, but haven't tried it yet. I'm a little leery of florals so that's why it took so long for me to get that kind. But I'll be trying it in a little while.

Edit: Just tried the rose...it's ok but still a little too heavily floral. But, I can mix it with the SP as it says in those "Toque Recipes" as I call them. 2 parts SP Extra and 1 part Rose=Wild Rose. I just plan on mixing it with something plain and it'll probably be perfectly lightly-rosed.

The ammonia's cleared a bit in mine, and I got a good taste tonight. It's very good, and I agree with it being similar to the American Scotches. It smells closer to the Americans to me than it does to HDT. That said, I prefer the American snuff(thinking WE Garrett, and other high smoke varieties here) to the Natural Toast. It's good, but I'd have liked to Roderick go more towards the nuttiness of the HDTs than the American sharpness.

Hmmm, mix the Toque Toast with some F&T HDT maybe? I might try that, but I do like it alone too

I've tried the cherry/coke mix and it is good! I've tried all but the other 2 florals of theirs and the new lime toast...sure I will eventually though

Well, Roderick once again shows his stuff, he has shown he can make a great plain toast! And this one is smooth and muted in the smoke. Makes me think he was trying to make a smooth American style toast. Maybe it is the hint of BBQ that I get from it.

The F&T High Dry Toast, to me, is as fine an example of a toast there is, Biscuit, and that toasted nutty taste.

But mixing these two together? You would lose what each had to offer! Its a free country, but you will not catch me doing it. Now Toast and chocolate, that is a whole other topic. Hmmm!
