    nose cleaning..

ive read that nasal sprays work...i was wondering if in the absence of a nasal spray and in a shortage of tissue...would contact solution be an alternative?

Just buy a little container of cheap nasal rinse and when the solutions gone pry the cap off and refill it. Plus its a bit easier to handle than the big bottle of saline solution. I use the cheap Walmart and Winco brands of contact lens solution (not the multi purpose type).

I just clean my nose out when I take a shower. If that's not enough, saline nose spray should do the trick. I wouldn't use contact lens solution, they have chemicals in them to sterilize the lens. The saline sprays are pretty cheap. Also get a snuff hanky and keep it in your pocket, then you won't have to worry about tissues.

Thats why you don't want to use the multi purpose type that have the cleaning agents & disinfectants in them. Just the regular thimerosal/chlorhexidine free saline solution. But then I'm a cheap SOB too.

DELETED because I just basically said what Norwester had already stated. Oops..only thing I would add is that qtips work great for quick sweeps. Saturate the tip with saline solution and sweep out snuff.

I rinse with a squeeze bottle of saline before bed. I don't like nicotine induced dreams, or the slow backdrip from lying on my back with a nose full of snuff. Or dirty brown pillows. ops:

I dunno but that Poschyl Spearmint I had yesterday followed by blowing my nose in a hanky worked wonders.
