how long you let your tins of toque sit with the lid off to release ammonia?

I never have. Has never seemed necessary to me.

Someone on here (Whalen, I think) told me about an hour or two. That's worked for me.

I'm with sage, Never felt the need. As A matter of fact I think exposing toque to any amount of air will only lead to it losing it's freshness faster. That being said, It might be a good Idea. ( the last part of that comment was for those ______heads out there.....

I don't. I prefer my snuff ammonia free, but don't feel like doing anything special to get rid of it. I just use it as usual, and it dissipates after awhile.

Interesting. Having purchased two tins, I've found the ammonia in both to be incredibly obtrusive. without airing for a minimum of several hrs., I would have considered them unusable. Which I should add, is a good thing.

I've only gotten the one tin of Toque Absinthe so frar, but I didn't really notice any ammonia smell to it. On the other hand, the anis smell is pretty strong and might just be covering the ammonia. I guess I'll find out when my next order gets in sometime later this week.
