I have some coveted Spanish Jewel snuff on the way!!

Well, I bid on 3 grams of Spanish Jewel that was being auctioned off on another site and I won!! There were 10 bottles of 3 grams each available that the person was auctioning off. The auction went so well and the seller was so generous that he decided to simply sell it all for the same price to each of the people that cared to submit a bid. Lucky for me he did that as I was the second highest bid. He ended up saving me about $40. Yea I know I was stupid to bid so much..........

I'm as giddy as a little girl with a back stage pass at a Jonas Brothers concert.

edit; I just went thru the members list here and I see that the seller IS a member here. I wish he would post more. I also see that he lives near me. So P-D if you read this thanks again for being so generous.

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I saw that PP, congratulations! :^)

It's a special snuff, and I haven't had anything even remotely close to the SJ. I still have about 1g that I got via trade, and I'm trying to hold onto it, because I'd like to replicate it, at least somewhat closely. Toques Spanish Gem is nothing like the Jewel. Where the Toque is almost like a tweaked Whisky/Honey, the Jewel is like an American scotch on triple dosage steroids. Huge flavor, and very complicated. I imagine the nicotine is pretty high, but I've only used a small amount at a time.

I kept an eye on the auction and was really surprised at the sellers generosity. He could have made quite a bit of money with all the offers. Definitely a stand up guy.

I've got some coming also. I placed my bid in the last couple minutes of the auction and though I would have been a winner anyway I'm humbled by PDs generosity. Absolutely a class move and I couldn't agree more, definitely a stand up lady. (could be wrong but I just looked at my Paypal account.)
        Anyway PD thanks again!

Don't feel bad PP,I didn't think my paltry bid stood a chance.

I kinda think that person is a gal too. But I'm still not sure. Maybe he/she will enlighten us. I do know that he/she is a policeman and in chicago, which is about 40 minutes from me.

So can someone explain this whole Spanish Jewel phenomena? I don't understand what could make a snuff so precious.

apparently there are several reasons why it is so sought after. First, it is made by one person, who is believed to have pass away. He lived in Spain and kept his receipe a secret. Secondly, It supposed to have a very high nic content, with several different tastes that develope when consumeing. Don't remember what they are tho. Last year someone got a bunch and distributed it to some members at Snuffhouse. You can go there and check it out for more info on what it tastes like..........but you dam well better come back here.

I recieved about 4 pinches. I used 2 and saved 2. I didn't get enough to really check it out. I will say one thing tho, Toque came up with Spanish Gem and its more of a tribute to Spanish Jewel. I like the Toque version. Ppl are experimenting with mixing Toques Cheeze and Bacon with other snuffs to try and duplicate it. That should give you an idea of the taste. Personally, when you smell it.........you would swear the secret ingrediant is dung. seriously........very seriously.

ahh hell, it ended up being [imo] real cheap. $12 for 3 grams including shipping. I'd a bought it even if I hated it.

I just posted my first takes on the Jewel over on Snuffhouse. I was surprised that it was not that complex!

Still working on it though. My homemade Rustica snuff is too complex compared with it. The rustica leaf itself is the real star of the Jewel IMHO. It has a lot to offer as a snuff. Do me a favor PP and give it a look and tell me what you think!

Great review. I agree I don't think its too complex and probably not that hard to duplicate. Let me know when you get it perfected and I will send you my 200 grams of rustica and a few other goodies if you can make me some. All I ask is that you send back 100 grams. No hurry tho. Get it right and let me know. Thanks, PP

you will have to get your own dung tho.

I am thinking of duplicating every thing but the dung smell, I just spent two hours working on evaluating the Jewel with a friend. The smell has to go, I have a snuff that tastes and smells good, I just need to freebase the nicotine a bit more. The nic hit of the jewel is the key thing about it, most prominent feature.

yepper that nic hit. I don't mind the dung smell.

I finally bought some toque cheeze and bacon. I'm not a big fan of toque snuffs cuz I need more nic. But that cheeze and bacon has something that keeps me reaching for the tin. so does the peanut butter. However, I have to take giant hits to get a good nic buzz. That why I mostly use american sweets I guess. I like dry and fine.

There is no reason why you can't duplicate the SJ. Or make one that is even better tasting. But that nic hit HAS to be there.

I would really enjoy some Blue Cheeze or Limburger flavored snuff. That would be great.
