    Opening snuff tin without spilliage?

    Yes. These.... :?:

Wtf is the trick to opening these types of tins without either "sealing" on the friggen lid so tight you can't get it open if tapping the damn thing first in an attempt to keep the snuff from being mound up and overflowing or if you don't tap and just open, you really have this mound of snuff higher than the damn can spilling all over?

:x No wonder I prefer my damn bullets!

Drop it a few times from a few inches, landing it flat on the bottom, then open up.

If the lid is getting stuck, it's probably not because you're tapping it. It's usually because there's some snuff in between the can and the lid. If you wipe off the edge before closing it each time, you shouldn't have stuck-on lids anymore.

I usually tap on the lid a few times then carefully open the lid. sometimes when I get a really full tin I will put half in a smashbox. I've spilled my share of snuff in the past, but will no more.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I don't any issue with these. I just firmly hold the bottom, and screw/turn the top, pulling it off in a controlled manner.

Now what was hard was this can of Honest Scotch Snuff I got the other day.

The dropping method works best. The large Wilsons of Sharrow tins in particular are difficult, as they tend to overfill them to an absurd degree. That's good in that you get several grams more snuff than what you paid for, but you need to exercise caution when first opening them. I first place them on a plate to catch any of the inevitable overspill.
