So I let it sit out for a good long while and its easier to snuff it still doesn't feel right to me. Still, plenty more snuff to try.

Well, now I have an interest in schmalzers.
I have never had this style of snuff, as far as I know.

I haven't bought any snuff is a long long time, and been working on smallerizing my collection.
But I had this urge to get some schmalzers, so I ordered the Sternaker and Poschl made bags on MrSnuff's site.
I also have not ordered from MrSnuff since he moved.

So, I make a little splurge, and now I have something new to look forward to trying.

How do Schmalzlers compare in moistness, and coarseness with Ozona President? I really want to try some.

            I recently got some schmalzlers.
I had a couple of Bernards tap containers, but I'm not if they were really full-on schmalzlers, but I have since traded them off, a while back.
So, I decided to order some real known schmalzlers.

I got 4 by Poschl, and 2 by Sternecker. These come in squarish labeled "bags".

            I really like them.
They have a coarse grind, and moist(not wet though).

One think I always had a problem with, with snuff, is the dry and fine ones, always going past my nose and not being enjoyable. These do not do that. I also like the flavors/aromas of these. Now, in the soon future, I may want to try the Bernards schmalzlers.

And to the post before mine, these are totally different, not menthol, and more heavy/coarse.

I should have some sternecker and some Klosstermung and some Feinster Kowoner coming today.......along with a bunch more (but not schmaltzers)

Sternecker is the best of this type I have had......trying out some new to me Bernards though.......

Oh, and to the OP.......don't worry, in about a year and a half you will love them.

                ;-)

                  haha :-)

Dry nasal snuff first thing in the morning makes me sneeze too much so these schmalzers are a great addition to the armoury.

If you like schmalzer (and even if you don't................i.e. Mike) might I suggest some of the Molen's offerings:

Gingerbread- medium to fine grind unbelievable flavor- not candy rather the scent of an old style ginger bread
Mettaijer- the base of the Gingerbread, not a plain snuff but it seems like it (wonderful)
                    Prins Regent- Macarba + bergamot
Macarbra- medium grind cognac and pure delicious tobacco
Bon Bon- bit of rose and tonka bean (sp?) very nice and nothing like an old lady soap
Hollandse Bolongaro- plain masterfully mixed tobacco a bit course

These are a bit courser than the English Snuffs without the clumping of the German ones (with the exception of the last two on the list which are the heaviest in cut). They will also introduce you to another proud tradition and philosophy of snuff making (Dutch) that is different from the English, American, or German Schools.

They are some of the absolute best snuffs on the market today...............made old school style....................you really owe it to yourself to try some
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers
