Has anybody here tried NTSU? I have plenty of snus, so I want it for nasal use, but it sounds very, very coarse and moist. People speak in mystical terms about the nicotine buzz, but a nicotine buzz is a nicotine buzz. On the other hand, I remember Kool Straights and Galluoise Shorts from back in the day, and those were "different." I've tried just about everything except the South African Snuffs. Opinions?

I've had a few of the South African moist snuffs. They are so moist, you might think they are used orally, and maybe they are. The Menthols suck. The non menthols are, well, different. not flavored in any way I can think of, just ground(kinda like coffee) and very moist. Odd stuff. They can be sniffed, some have dried them out, but having done this as well, I think they are best moist. But being moist they are a bit challenging, and easy in a way too, to sniff up the nose. But it's been said they have a barnyard essence, and I'd agree. Very earthy aspect to them. If interested, getting one can is not a bad idea to just try it. Personally, I like the Taxi Red best. I personally never got a nic hit from nasal snuff, so I can't comment on that. I also tried these in the mouth, the menthol is terrible, the other did give a short sharp nic hit, and the taste was very bland.Comment

I prefer the NTSU to Taxi, but it's a close thing. Definitely high in ammonia when fresh, and yes there is a manure scent, but it's a good manure. I grew up on a farm and know the difference between good and bad crap scents. :lol:
The grind is tough to sniff, more of a spoon it in and hang on, good nicotine level, good scent when you get used to it.
I agree with Tom the menthol versions are awful, unless you like your barnyard mentholated.Comment

You can have mine if I don't like it. I just ordered 60g's of it, along with 60g's of Taxi Red. It sounds like I'm going to hate it, but I couldn't resist, given that all the other "high nicotine" snuffs I've tried have seemed pretty tame. I usually snuff for the sensual pleasure and get my nicotine from other sources. There ought to be a law against shopping on the internet while under the influence. That's how I ruin myself.Comment

I have a tin of NTSU
Upon opening it one is overwhelmed with a overpowering scent of uncleaned horse stall. One that has not been mucked out in months, and then you put your pitchfork deep into it and pull out a mass ....that is NTSU right out of the tin.
I of course being the brave soul that I am, tried it anyway, once in the nose the smell was gone, not sure if it just overpowered my brain or if it actually left and went elsewhere. I then began to putter about the house and noticed my heart fluttering a bit, and noticed that it had now been about 2 hours and I had not smoked (I smoke a e-cig) nor had I the desire to snuff anything.
I sat down and had a little smoke and a little more snuff, (mistake) and felt a little sick. So I got busy with work (on laptop) and had no more smoke or snuff until bedtime.
The Nicotine is there for sure!
For me half of my love for snuff is the scents, the other half is the nicotine. NTSU does nothing for the scent, so I have been trying mixing it with more scented snuffs. All so far are snuffable but only as much as the NTSU is snuffable.
I even mixed it with the dreadful Sun snuff, outcome was even more dreadful.Comment

I got my NTSU black yesterday. I can't say I really smell anything but ammonia. It's a little difficult to sniff due to the coarse cut, little bits fell out. I guess my nicotine tollerance is just too high from mostly using sterk and ekstra sterk snus, I didn't really feel much of a nic hit from this stuff. This morning I sat down and mixed NTSU & Rooster 50/50, did about 4 good pinches of that and didn't really feel anything. Probably didn't help that I was already on my 2nd Skruf Sterk :lol: But at least now I have something to mix Rooster with, cause Rooster is just too damn fine to sniff by its self, at least for me anyways :roll:

Wow, fury, you must have an indredible nicotine tolerance. I finally tried mine, and for two hours after the pinch, I had no desire to do any other tobacco products. You have to get passed the ammonia smell, and once in your nose all you get it this horrific, fantastic stinging, but then the longest lasting nicotine buzz I've ever gotten fron a tobacco product. It's qualitatively different too, it's like a rush of calm energy, without the heart pounding and sweating unless you try to top up with another srong nicotine product, in which case it's a bit much. Has a unique nose feel also because of the coarse, moist cut and the granular nature of the tobacco, Works best when chased by a lower nicotine, more pleasently flavored snuuf. Yeah LHB, thats what I was expecting from this stuff but just didn't happen. Don't get me wrong, I could tell it contained nicotine but I was sniffing some W&H 10 min later with a new snus portion. I think I just might have to lay off the snuff for a week altogether and only use mini portions for a week to lower my tolerance again. I had to do that before because I was double barreling Oden's Kanal ES every morning with my coffee and just didn't feel it anymore. Even with medications my tolerance goes up almost instantly :cry:Comment

That's incredible. I did two snoot fulls of the NTSU about hour apart yesterday, and was definitely a little uncomfortable after the second one, topped off with some Hedges. I can pound just about any other snuff with no problem, but the NTSU floors me. Maybe there's something else in it that my body is sensitive to.
