    Toque Recommendations

Hey everyone, I'm calling on you because I'm not experienced with snuff at all. I'm fixin' to send some snuff to a Mongolian. I've already sent him some Toque Original, Whiskey and Honey, and I really can't remember the 3rd kind I sent him. But he loved all 3, and I would like to send him some more. Can you guys let me know what flavors are your favorite, with Mongolian tastes in mind? I'll help out with that last bit: They smoke shitty Russian/Chinese cigs, they have a strong snuff tradition but from what I've had it's pretty bad yet "traditional" in flavor, and most importantly, Mongolians eat a diet that is highly restricted to their climate/soil and lifestyle, therefore, they literally do not even know what a blueberry is, much less what it should taste like. So no fruity shit please. They also don't eat Cheese and Bacon lol. Any ideas for mellow, more traditional flavors that stand out as the best in your mind? This is also for me. Thanks

On second thought... maybe he'd be totally blown away by blueberry??

I can only guess that some familiar tastes might include peppermint, absinthe (anise), and perhaps some of the florals.
The Christmas pudding comes to mind because of the clove and spices.
    Everyone loves Coke and Chocolate.

Excellent call on the coke and chocolate... thanks!

Edit: Where are the mutton and vodka flavors? Lol. Mutton, vodka, and dill would be his new favorite.

I don't know that familiar is necessary. Everything was new at one time :^)

I'd suggest a 10 pack of Toque(for the price of 9). Going by that, here's what I'd get...

        Spanish Gem
        Cheese/Bacon
        Toast/Marmalade
        Espresso
        Christmas Pudding
        Champagne
        SP Extra
        Berwick Brown
        Absinthe
        Natural

I didn't include fruits, as they aren't my personal preference. I have had the Toque citrus varieties, but I prefer their SPs. Grapefruit and St Clements are good though. Lime/Toast I'm still undecided about.

Nice list Lx. I thing Toast/Marmalade might have been the 3rd one I sent. Yeah I'm starting to agree... maybe some Western tastes that he will never experience otherwise is the way to go...

EDIT: Your list is great and I really appreciate it, but I have to be careful here. This man literally catches rain water in a tarp and uses it to bathe and quench his whole family... he does not know what espresso should taste like!

Like snus, don't assume anything. You don't know what he will like, so send him a variety. Based upon what he says, you know which direction to favor next time.

But if he is new, don't decide anything for him, let him decide.

Perfect then, because it doesn't taste much like coffee :^D It has a kind of roasty flavor. I'd describe it as an easy to take toast. It's natural tasting, and would compliment a rugged lifestyle imo.

Thanks sage, he's not new. He's been using snuff since my grandfather has been drinking beer. That's why I called upon you all, he's quite experienced, just not with the good stuff

Speaking of rugged lifestyles, you know what would make an awesome snuff? Peat fire! If you read this Roderick, you need an Irish country scent. Call it Toque Galway :^)

Still the same. Once he tries good stuff, you still won't know what he likes. I just think a wide variety of types is a smart idea. As you mentioned, maybe he will fall in love with these new fruit flavors he can only experience in snuff. Just don't know until he tries them.

Um, wait, you live in Seattle...how can you NOT know how espresso tastes? You're in the Starbucks capitol of the world...you should have Starbucks espresso running through your veins! :P I'm so jealous now...I mean, a Starbucks across the street from Starbucks and around the corner from another Starbucks...how much better could life be than that? I have to drive 2 miles to get to my Starbucks...oh the humanity!

Woah hang on Sheilalynn, I was talking about a man in Mongolia not Seattle. I certainly know my coffee and I have indoor plumbing as well lol. And I wouldn't have said this otherwise, not trying to be a buzzkill, but you specifically told me I ought to have Starbucks coursing through my veins, so I must say, I HATE STARBUCKS!! lol. And I hate to see all of the tourists in Seattle going to Starbucks like it's some big Seattle thing to do when they all have Starbucks around the corner in their hometowns, and they are missing out on some of the best coffee to be found anywhere by walking right past one of this city's many terrific mom-and-pop shops to get their Grande Extra Foam Skinny No Whip Mochas! OK end of rant, please forgive me, you are very sweet and I'm not trying to direct any of this at you. I just really f'king hate Starbucks, and I think they serve some of the worst coffee in town, and their pervasiveness really kind of disgusts me... But thank you for not drinking Foldgers and for supporting Seattle's economy, even though the bastard CEO sold our basketball team to Oklahoma!!

Sorry Sheila  are we cool?

Actually...I'll take a tall iced decaf americano with sugar free vanilla

And ohhhh, it looked like you were talking about yourself and when I saw you were from Seattle, my 'bucks brain went into overdrive :P Blah to the Folgers though...if I had to pick something else, it would be Green Mountain coffee since they do make a decent decaf french vanilla coffee.

Of course we're cool...takes a little more than not liking my home away from home to piss me off

Oh, I agree. i hate Strbucks too. But then again, I was trained at a young age, went to Berkeley, land of 20 different cafe's. I have been going to the same local cafe for 15 ears, another for 7.

But I have to say. If I am traveling and don't know where to get, I am grateful if I see a Starbucks. But then again again, I have this nifty device on my cell phone that should tell me where all the local cafe's are, based on my GPS so probably don't even need that any more.
