I think we will be able to continue to get snus, due to the plans of the snus makers and distributers in the US, but I think the availablity concern will be with nasal snuff. Now I like nasal snuff, but really, I have enough to probably last my lifetime, but the snuff makers and distributers, ..... I don't know, they seem to be misguided.....

Guys what fines? Where are you getting the notion of fines? If a domestic seller does not comply with the collection of the various state taxes there will be fines. Yes.
But there is no new collection policy implemented for foreign companies. None. It is the same customs declaration as before with the same responsibility for you the consumer to claim it on your taxes.
There is no change and point blank no funding allocated to implement such changes.
Shipping USPS is the only change we are looking at unless there is a latent surprise buried in the language of the law (and even the shipping change is not automatic- but requires a change in USPS foreign policy via the post master general. Which I agree is very likely). Regardless, I just don't see all the doom. When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... I don't know man. The fact that they moved there for the sole purpose of circumventing the law. The fact that the proprietors are still U.S. Citizens, presumably still living in the U.S. Seams a ripe opportunity for the Gov to make an example out of em. Just my .02. Roderick, Not worried about him. He is a British National who is just continuing to do what he's always done.

Until the Postmaster General changes the terms of USPS foreign policy Roderick is right. His shipments are perfectly legal. However, the Postmaster has been instructed by the law itself to bring Postal codes up to compliance (I wrote directly to the Postmaster about this). There are various factors and agreements that will have to be accounted for but unless there is a surprise, my guess is that Roderick, Tom and Dave will have to use UPS or some other company in the near future.
Citizenship is unrelated to this matter, especially if the company is set up as a corporation under British law. Think about it. How many US companies have moved over seas in order to avoid labor law regulations. When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... I'm not worried, and don't think I'm full of gloom. All this Northerner compliance has just got me thinking. I've been a heavy snuffer, but never one of these crazy collectors. The only places i've bought snuff have been from Toque and the northerner. (have had a lot odf different ones thru trades) I could easily live off of Toque original and HDT for the rest of my life. So I'm gonna order a case of HDT before the end of June from the Northerner and like said I'm not personally worried about the availability of Toque. I was merely wondering if it wasn't a premature move on Tom and Dave's parts to try and circumvent the FDA, an agency that has been appropriated a lot of money to set new rules in place to keep tobacco more controlled. I'm still not sold that they didn't act hastily. But we will see.

Don't misunderstand me.............I could be completely wrong.............I just don't see the scenario yet that keeps us from ordering much as we do now. That said, I am going to place a year's order before June simply to avoid the higher shipping and to give myself a bit of time to watch how it all falls out. But if I couldn't make the order before June I would not be in a tail spin. I'd just feel like I missed getting in at a lower price. When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I'm in total agreement with Snusdog. It will be business as usual. America cannot pass laws on foreign citizens who are non resident in the USA and are going about their legal business in their own country. We will continue to follow the letter of the law and make our full customs declarations in the usual way.
If in the distant future Wal-Mart starts selling Toque, we already have everything in place to gain FDA approval, but if we instigate that approval now we would not be able to send through the USPS. For a change in World postal law The Post Master General would have to request a meeting of the Universal Postal Union and the Universal Postal Union would have to pass a ruling allowing an exception for the United States. I think I would be safe to say, this won’t happen.
