A new method I just discovered to 'snuffing'...

So these damn WoS tins, I don't know whether to bitch or rejoice. I mean no matter what I do, until the usage of a couple grams, I can't get the damn tins open without spilling some valuable powder all over my desk. Tried dropping the tin from a couple inches... tapping the damn thing all around the lid. I still get that "mountain effect" when opening the tin of a pile of snuff powder elevated over the rim on one side and inevitably falling out.

I happened to have a slightly moistened tow-let/napkin from one of those dispensers in the work RR on my desk. I took this to lightly dab up what fell out of the can on my desk and thought - Why just waste this nice gathering of snuff on the moist towel? I proceeded to twist the towel carefully a little where the snuff was soaked in and still somewhat loose from the 'light' dabbing off the desk and inserted this end into my nostrils one by one proceeding to take some controlled but extended inhalations.

This worked out really well and enabled me to get enjoyment out of my spilled snuff w/o waste. I've sorta adapted to the 'pinch & sniff' style as of late anyhoo so this was very similar and an easy way to enjoy nasal snuff.

Try it and let me know how it works out for you!

    Interesting

I just always set a new tin of wilsons on a piece of paper before I open it. Then just fold the paper and pour the spilled snuff back into the tin

For a new tin, I will also push the snuff away from the edges toward the middle of the tin (kind of making a little mountain in the middle). This works well as long as you keep the tin flat (i.e. use another container/snuff box to transport the tobacco with you during the day)
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Good points dAwg. Never thought of slipping a piece of paper under the tin first. Now I feel like a dumbass.

Yea, another good use I now make of my various 'bullets'. I use them for transport these days only. I quite taking 'hits' straight from them months ago once I discovered the experience of forgetting you have a 'scotch' or 'toast' in one as opposed to a courser blend.... I still end up tapping a measure or two out on my thumb/forefinger pocket and sniffing 1 heap each per nostril. I do find myself enjoying 'pinching' the most though straight from the tin these days. Looks like I should probably stock up on some smash boxes and have at it.

(I think the pinching from the tin direct has brought back some fonder memories of my former copenhagen snuff dipping days - just that motion albiet 2 fingers instead of 3 that is half the thrill.)

I have several cans of WoS and they're always filled to the tippy top when you get them. Not a bad thing though...at least you get your money's worth!

Still haven't tried snuff yet but will remember that.... Most likely first time I try it will be on a mirror on the table, razor blade, and a rolled up $100.00!!! Studio 54 baby..

Seriously though may add a tin of snuff to my next order to try it out

Just dump it into a different container the first time you open it. Then the spillage is only a problem once, and you can use the hundreds of seconds you've saved to write angry letters to Wilson's about their shitty tins.

                It's not that hard people.

Hold the tin flat, (lid facing up for the more challenged out there), give the tin a couple of gentle sideways shakes.

One sharp tap on the center of the lid.

                No spillage. Ever.

I use a dollar bill or a straw, seems to work well and I always have one of the two all the time anyways.
