    Patrick Collins 'Triple Tech' boxes

Just wanted to drop a note about the 'Triple Tech' boxes from Patrick Collins. I nabbed one of these last week when Nic Rush got them back in stock. If you are a confirmed Snuffhead, you *want* one of these among your accessories. Beautiful, beuatiful box(I got the Teak version), all moving parts slide back and forth perfectly, holds a good 4g of snuff or so. Even the little spoon is well done--awkward to use, but I'm getting there, and it avoids messy fingers and hands.

Mr. Collins is truly an artist. I think there are(or were) 10 of each variety, so don't wait.

Yeah, I grabbed a cherry one of these. The last time they were up they sold out within a week or so it seemed. Took forever for new stock to get in, since he makes them by hand in his spare time, from what I gather. Anyway, awesome snuffboxes, and the pour spout works wonderful for schmalzlers and other coarse snuffs one doesn't generally pinch.

This sounds like something a scientologist would try to sell you.

These look sweet and I'm tempted... My fiance finds it though, she will break it over my head.

i got one, it's too small to break over your head, and a pretty stout little thing to boot... i doubt she could break it at all

Just got my teak triple tech a couple of days ago. It is fantastic. I will be getting another one as soon as I have some extra cash.

The maker of these boxes makes me ill. Making these of Tiger bones!
To quote him from another forum

                  "onefortheroad Nov 19th 2009 *#*9
I've been carrying around the prototypes since April of '08. I originally bought the spoons from an ebayer in China. They were listed as tiger bone snuff spoons, hand carved and 30 years old. After that I bought a large quantity from them direct. Very hard to communicate with them and any real dialogue has been nil. They do still sell them but I see they just say 'bone' snuff spoons now. They may be avoiding animal rights types or something. They must be from some animal. I personally like objects made of bone. Snuffboxes and chess sets and such. Newer bone chess sets are typically from camel bone and are produced in India where there seems to be a surplus of camels. I suppose one dead tiger would make a lot of these spoons. And from what I know there was a lot of killing of tigers in China in the past. My guess is they are indeed tiger bone. The spoons do all vary to some degree. Some are thinner or thicker, some have larger or smaller scoops, a little curve to the handle, darker or lighter bone etc. Definitely hand carved. I think the intended purpose for these is snuff bottles.

                  This just makes me sick!

Any thoughts on how well these boxes would do as containers for portion snus? I'm not a nasal snuff user, but I'm just really tempted to own one of these beautiful boxes and was thinking of one of the double compartment boxes to use for carrying around a couple different varieties of snus portions. I carry a tinful of General portions on my person for regular use, but I like to have another flavor or two in my briefcase for a change of pace during the work day.

If you do a search at snuffhouse, you'll find it's not really made of tiger bone.

I already did the search which brought me to posting it here. Seems the thread was closed and many members were very angry about the use of a Tigers bone.

My quote above is from the maker of the boxes. It can't get anymore clear than that.
