    Serious Indian Snuff

I was mooching around a local convenience store, Indian owned, big surprise, when I asked if they had any nasal snuff around. None on the shelves but the owner went into the back room and emerged with two different Indian snuffs. One small can, which he generously let me have, was something called Sri Ambal Officers Special. Dark, smoky, exotically spicy and musty, but quite good I think so far. The musty part is likely due to the battered can having sat around for years. It wasn't overly dry though. I'm liking it so far, after about 4 pinches. He claims he can get it for me if I want some, and cheap too. I'm thinking I do.

The other snuff was his double-secret high-octane super snuff which was in an unlabeled slender beige plastic tube with a twist top. He shook out a tiny amount of very pale tan coarse powder and bade me sniff. Good lord what a kick--heavy menthol, huge nic hit from a tiny little pinch, much sneezing and eye-watering, wowsers. He claimed that the tiny, less than 5 grams tube, was not only the strongest snuff one could buy but also that it cost the equivalent of $25 in India. Hard to believe but I have no reason to doubt him, on either count. It was some serious head banging stuff.

Interesting. I like the Indian snuffs, and they can be a challenge to get. Did you get the super high octane one also? For $25 in India, it must be pretty expensive to sell here.

No he didn't want to part with the high-priced stuff--says it's nearly impossible to get and I'm not sure I'm up to that much nic anyway. I'll definitely bug him for some of the Sri Ambal though.

I tried to search for Sri Ambal online, and can't find an website or a pic, if possible, it'd be nice if you can post a pic of it. I did see it mentioned in the search, and a lawsuit against the name sounding like Sri Andal.

Sorry I don't have a digital camera these days and a phone pic would be useless for the closeup needed. The store owner said he could still get it but it may have been a long time since he tried and it may well not be in production any more. The label on the 10 gram tubular can is nearly completely worn out, must have been sitting for years.

              great find
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Indian snuffs are gonna be even harder to get now with PACT, unless you luck out at a local Indian shop. While Mr.Snuff only sells Dholakia made, Nicotine Rush had the 5 Photos, and Suns, and I don't think he's shipping to the US. Last I read anyway.

I'll start with Dholakia White. This is absurdly fine. I can sniff a scotch or a toast all day without any complaints but this snuff is finer than dust....
