    Bad influences!

Well, I've decided to be adventurous and try this stuff out too. I promised myself as a teenager (when I woke up from surgery with nasal tubes) that I would NEVER willingly put anything in my nose, but here I am waiting for an order of nasal snuff to be delivered next week sometime. Granted it's supposed to stay in the front part of the nose, but I'm still slightly creeped and slightly excited to try it out. I blame you all! In a good way. I figure for 20 bucks I could get a nice sampler for Toque and if it's not for me, no biggie.

I went girly and newbie for my flavors. Cherry, chocolate, espresso, lavender, peach, pomegranate, raspberry menthol, toast and marmalade, vanilla, and whiskey and honey.

you will undoubtedly get some in the back of your nose/throat. dont worry about it though, i'm sure you will love snuff. i dont know how anyone couldnt, and you'll have plenty of flavours to find out what you like too

Toque's ten 10g tins for the price of nine deal is indeed a good way to try out snuff without spending a lot of money. Plus a lot of Toque flavors are newbie-friendly. Sniff very gently when you try out the Toast & Marmalade and the Whisky & Honey. Toasted snuffs are fine and dry, and more likely to end up in your throat. Enjoy!

And if it doesn't work out for you, you'll have no trouble getting rid of it here on the board. I think the vast majority of us snuffheads here are gaga for Toque.

Start small. Little pinches, the size of an apple seed or so. If you're insufflating it much harder than you would normally inhale air through your nose, you're doing it too hard. Don't be afraid to sneeze good and hard if you need to--it's all part of the learning curve.

I would suggest statrting out with Chocolate, Cherry, or Pomegranate. Save Whisky and Honey and Toast and Marmalade for later, when you're accustomed to snuff.

The peach, whiskey and honey, Chocolate, and vanilla are great. I haven't tried the others except for espresso.. I can't stand the espresso but some people swear by it.

I agree, the Chocolate is very good, but for me it took a long time to air the ammonia out of the tin. I got Cherry Menthol and the regular Raspberry, and wish I'd reversed them as far as the menthol goes. But I like Toque's use of menthol so much that I just ordered a 50g bag of Toque Menthol. I can easily add some fruit flavoring if I want, or just enjoy it as is.

I have a year old tin of Toque's espresso Veganpunk gave me several months ago. The other day I found in my top night stand drawer and just had to give it another go, the espresso aroma has dissipated but was left with a wonderful plain tobacco taste.

                  Kelindae,

Your getting good advice from our members here. When starting out, my favourite recommendations have always been Peppermint, Chocolate, Vanilla and Toffee. Stay away from toasts for a few weeks as they are very dry and take quite a bit of practice.

As most beginners sniff too hard and are put off when their snuff goes down the back of their throats I recommend a wet pinch as this adds weight and helps keep the snuff in the front of the nose. Lick/wet your finger and thumb take a big pinch and gently place it, rather than sniff it, on either side of the septum. As you gain experience you will find you can sniff with the best of us and remember the fresher the snuff the more it will need airing.

                  Glad to have you onboard.

                    Kelindae,

Toque Pomegranate is a must have for your first order, I promise you won't be sorry just add it in on the 10 for the price of 9 deal. Pomegranate seems to keep very well and taste amazing.

I hate the influences on this site too..

I told myself I wouldn't put anything in my nose a well and I now do snuff occasionally.

Snuffing is a great experience that has a long rich history, older than even snus. One thing that is great is first thing in the morning. A quick hit of a nice blend calms the cravings and leaves a nice fragrance.

Welcome to the wonderful world of snuff, Kelly! You have to throw in some toque "Cheese n Bacon"...

I thought about it. But while I may enjoy a bacon cheeseburger from time to time I just didn't think I'd really like to shove one up my nose. At least, not while I'm just starting out.

I ordered the cheese and bacon just for the hell of it, I thought it was a joke. It's now
                              one of my favorite snuffs.
