Do you use the new but fastly gaining in popularity Nicotine Pouch products?

If so we'd love to hear from you with your favourite brands & experiences with them.

Lyft by Fiedler & Lundgren who have deep and long established routes in the Swedish Snus market seem to be very popular? and Zyn by Swedish Match again a heavyweight in the Swedish Snus market.

I have tried my hardest to like them and they are good in emergencies but they do not satisfy me like Snus does.

I have tried the ON brand, but they irritated my gums. I also tried American Zyn in a couple of strengths, and the 6 hit super hard from what I remember and the 3 was okay, but it was not satisfying to me.

I've tried a bunch and settled on Helwit Mocha. There are soooo many brands and flavors now a days. I needed to drop my nic level due to heart issues. I was able to cut it from 8mg to about 4mg nic. That will do for now. I really like these pouches....never thought I would tho

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I’m going to try a tin of that brand out in my next order. I saw they have a licorice one, and I have yet to find a replacement for the long gone Gotland Grey so I’ll give them a shot.

I don’t want to go over 8mg for regular use and if I need more nic in the moment I can always use some snuff.

How do you find their portion material?

The material and filler is fine. Every time I go to place an order the Helwit licorice is out of stock. I bet it will be good. I've tried all the other Helwits. The cola, violet, mocha are good for my tastes. Warning...some of these are on the sweet side but they really do last for hours. I've never has one lose its flavor ever, which is a good thing.

Cool. I have them sitting in my cart, but I won't place that second order until I go through my first small order of new to me snus. I am also interested in the violet so I will probably grab a tin of them as well.

I got a tin of Zyn yesterday, I ran out of snuff on the road (with two almost empty tap boxes that had less than I thought in them) and neglected to bring any snus with me so I stopped and grabbed some 3mg Zyn. It isn't bad, the uptake is good, but I still felt like something was missing. I have one in now (cool mint) and a little bit of snuff with it really rounds out the experience for me. I am excited to try a different brand and I can see myself using these...maybe not all day, but a lower nicotine small portion is exactly what I am looking for.

I feel this too with all the nicotine pouch I've tried. I wonder if there is more to tobacco than just nicotine.

There is. Bit like coffee is not just caffeine.

So today I was out and about and grabbed a tin of American Velo (4mg spearmint) from a gas station. I used these nicotine pouches exclusively, no other oral tobacco and only my morning pinch of HDT after my shower.

They’re tasty, super convenient, and extremely discreet. I liked them and they didn’t bother my gums at all.

Throughout the day I kept overdoing on the nicotine but not feeling satisfied. I found myself chainsnusing them and about three hours before I got home I just stopped using them. As soon as I got home I popped in a General white and I finally feel satisfied.

For me at this point, in a pinch a nicotine pouch isn’t bad and I feel like I could use them for a few hours throughout the day or as a flavor change up. I do like mint sparingly, but not enough to carry a whole tin with me all day. But, in preparation for my next order I wanted to evaluate them alongside snus. Like I’d keep a tin of the dry ones in my glove box just in case, but I could not switch full tilt.

Now I do have a single tin of Swedish nicotine pouches on order as I hear they are moist and different from what is on offer in American gas stations to gauge if there is a difference.

                      Chewbacca is correct.

Here is some science explaining how some minor alkaloids influence tobacco use and nicotine uptake. It is from 2009, it was funded by Association pour la Recherche sur les Nicotianées (ARN), France (Imperial tobacco), but it was less biased than articles published by American tobacco. Good luck finding published tobacco studies not funded by a tobacco company.

                      https://academic.oup.com/ijnp/article/12/10/1355/720831

                      Highlights:

In the present study, we have shown for the first time that a cocktail of the minor tobacco alkaloids: anabasine, anatabine, cotinine, myosmine and nornicotine produces a similar effect. At concentrations relevant to those contained in cigarette smoke, addition of the minor alkaloids to the nicotine infusion solution significantly enhanced locomotor activity and sensitization, increased the reinforcing efficacy of nicotine over several doses and strengthened rats' motivation to obtain nicotine. We have also shown that of the minor alkaloids tested, myosmine, anatabine and cotinine individually increased nicotine-induced locomotor activity, highlighting a possible role for these specific minor alkaloids in tobacco addiction.

It is possible that the divergence in responding following self-administration of nicotine or nicotine plus the minor alkaloids represents a differential transition of the underlying neurobiology controlling the behavioural outcome, a theory supported by the finding that application of cigarette-smoke extract produces greater up-regulation of nAChRs than that observed following nicotine alone

Interestingly, the levels of activity induced by nicotine plus anatabine, cotinine or myosmine were equal to, or greater than, that recorded for the cocktail including all alkaloids, suggesting that the relationship of the minor alkaloids with nicotine is synergistic rather than additive.

Overall, these results demonstrate that the addition of the five minor tobacco alkaloids can significantly alter the stimulatory and reinforcing effects of nicotine over several behavioural procedures. Further studies are required to better elucidate the precise nature of the mechanisms underlying the changes seen in the presence of the minor alkaloids, both in combination with nicotine, and independently.

I’ve tried to like them and I do at first but I don’t last much more than a week two weeks maximum.

                          What is HDT Monkey ?

Is it the case that we chase tobacco satisfied with the nicotine pouches and in the hunt we get stressed and overdose? I agree that nicotine pouches have their place when you're in a pinch. Also, what brand of nicotine pouches are the moist ones? I don't remember any of them.

High Dry Toast by F&T. It’s a dry English nasal snuff.

According to the internet, Swedish Velo (and others) have a higher moisture content than American nicotine pouches. American ones are filled with a dry powder. It is like putting a salt packet under your lip and I have to wet them on my tongue before putting them under my lip. I have yet to experience this, but I think moist may not mean “wet” and may just mean not bone dry.
