    Favorite Oliver Twist

I bought a pack of Wintergreen and Tropical. I like the Tropical. Not so much the Wintergreen. I got these at a local smoke shop in Knoxville. Last night I ordered a roll of tropicals and a roll of sunberries and a single can of most of the rest of them from a place in NYC. Now, I see there are European varieties the store didn't have such as ROYAL which is English Licorice. To me tropical tastes like Licorice but its really Anise. I am curious which flavors you all have tried and how you liked them. I am really liking these twists. They are smaller even that mini snus portions and you can bite them and get more nicotine out of them.

I was on my way from Knoxville to Nashville today and stopped in a small TN town, at a smoke shop, and bought a tin of Mint Oliver Twists. Have yet to try them. Boy are these discreet. More like those tiny camel snuses..... but they last a long long time and you can bite the heck out of them if you want.

For me, it's more like "what didn't I like."

The only one I found a complete turnoff was Wintergreen. The longer I left it in, the more nauseated it made me. I tried two tins, just to be sure it was the flavoring I had a problem with. It was.

Far and away my favorite is "regular." Just pure tobacco taste. Royal is quite good. Just finished a tin. Citrus takes some getting used to, but in Florida that's what I want to pull out when I talk with orange growers.

I truly miss "Senior," the strongest OT that said it was for veteran users. Ha. I wouldn't say I'm a veteran, but that OT plain kicked.

P.S. Almost forgot. Sunberry and Tropical are both fine by my taste.

        Mint

Well, I tried the mint and it was too strong of a mint and not sweet. I really didn't like it. This morning I tried another and for some reason its ok, but I don't prefer it. I prefer the tropical so far.

Tropical is a little over the top for syuipy flavor and it seems to burn my tounge a little after awhile. The Royal is just like the original, without the smoke flavor. By far I like the Original.

i like the tropical since it is more of a candy snus for me. it still gives me the shits if i swallow the juice..

I enjoy Oliver Twist a great deal, but I've only tried the Original, which has a great tobacco taste. I'm not sure that I'd like to try the flavoured ones, probably because I don't like flavoured snus.

You can get a great deal of mileage from a twist (according to the video, they measure one centimeter long.) I suck on them and when the twist has broken down, I chew it to release more of the the juice. Great stuff!

I just got a little tin of Oliver Twist Original. First time I have ever tried these and they are pretty cool. They are so damn small though and quite expensive for how much you get. Still definitely interesting and worth a try. The Original flavor is kinda odd, but not too bad. I think Ill keep giving them a try and maybe they will grow on me although they are a little to small for me to probably buy a whole lot more. Are there any other tobacco bits that are a little bigger? What other brands are out there that are good to?

There are Piccanell but don't know if they are any bigger. They are a little cheaper though. Yes I too was thinking something like this would be better bigger. The Oliver Twist is like a mini IMO even though I think it has a lot more nicotine than a mini. I guess you can put in two but then you would go through them more quickly. It would seem like an easy enough thing to make in the USA you would think. I looked at Twist chewing tobacco, this old fashioned stuff that looks like a disproportionate rope. One Twist costs like 3.50 and I guess you cut off a chunk with a knife and chew it. I didn't buy it.

my care package of Oliver Twist came in. I got one pack of citrus, and original and a sixpack of sunberry and tropical. I don't favor the original so far because its too smoky, the sunberry I wish I had bought only one of now. I was hoping for a raisiny taste, but its a little too fruity at first... Maybe it will be better tomorrow. I love the tropical though. this stuff is all labeled for TN and expires in like August thru October. I wonder if you get a full year till expiry out of the swedish vendors.

                      getting better

I am not sure if its my taste buds or what but what I am finding is that flavored Oliver Twist is very strongly flavored, almost too much, when you first open it. For example, mint and wintergreen I didn't like. Now they have been open a little while, the flavor has lowered a bit and I like them! So... Maybe being in a vacuum sealed pack intensifies the taste which then goes away after it is opened. Or, my taste buds are getting shot.

I am curious for those that use the Oliver Twists, do you empty the packet into the box or keep them in the inner wrapper? I was thinking to actually use the corner of a baggie as a new inner packet to keep them fresh ( I have five opened packs of different flavors). Whats cool about the twists is the tins are so small I can fit five packs in my pocket with hardly a bulge.

I keep them in the plastic wrapper, because OT recommends this: http://www.oliver-twist.dk/Engelsk%2...packaging.html.

Once they get a little too much air, the pellets dry out extremely quickly. I also open the wrapper only half and keep the whole box in a plastic bag (at room temperature). This way they will stay fresh for months.

Apart from these helpful precautions, the stuff really is as easy to store as possible. Even snus does not imperatively need refrigeration, but tobacco bits really don't need refrigeration at all.

                        Cheers!

A couple months ago I tried two Original bits at once and it got me very sick, even though I spit out all the juice. Stupidly, I bought a lot of them, and every time I think of them I almost retch.

I like the Tropical Oliver Twists as well as the Citrus. I just ordered some Royal and will try these. I hope I like them.

The Piccanell is slightly cheaper, and it seems you get a few more. There is no sugar or sweetness in the Piccanell at all. I got the licorice one, not sweet but a hint of flavor. Otherwise it is salty, like snus.

For all you people being discreet out there - and can't go for a wad in your lip - use a Piccanell or Twist, lower lip or upper lip and it doesn't give you the huge nic hit but it does take care of the shakes.

Also what's cool is the containers are very small, so if you need to be stealthy, they do the trick (I think I'll even put some snus portions in one of my empties - then I'm really set - we'll see).

Fedora, the one thing I really don't like about OT's is the sweetness. Methinks I may have to give the Picannell a try now.
