The tipple, with 15 per cent nicotine, also has an African herbal extract said to provide "a slight energising effect plus a euphoric sense of calming and relaxation".
15% NICOTINE???? A sip would kill you. The LD50 for nicotine is 40-60mg for humans.

          Old news...

          'nicotine drink' for smokers

          published: 27 oct 2008

A drink containing nicotine is being launched in Britain to help smokers beat the pub ban on cigarettes.

liquid smoking has proved a hit in the netherlands, where it has been on sale for a year.
The tipple, with 15 per cent nicotine, also has an african herbal extract said to provide "a slight energising effect plus a euphoric sense of calming and relaxation".

Guillaume van grinsven, sales and marketing manager for dutch supplier united drinks and beauty corporation, claimed: "it is an ideal healthy alternative to cigarettes."

but amanda sanford, from action on smoking and health, said: "we are concerned that we have started to see a number of these novel products on the market."
It's evidently called Liquid Smoking and nothing can be found about it after 2008!!

          Probably should be renamed DUD.

I wouldn't be surprised if Camel energy drinks with nicotine or something similar gets released in the United States. Could you imagine the amount of outrage it would cause? Haha.

I made some coffee you could stand on with caffeinated water once. It's something I wouldn't repeat but the results were everything and more than what I expected. I don't think that a nicotine drink would go over well though. I have no idea about the science behind it, but to me the half life of caffeine seems to be much longer than that of nicotine. It seems the body load is less too. That, and caffeine is almost exactly as addictive as nicotine and perhaps the common consumption of caffeine makes it a substance that more people are addicted to. Some group somewhere will also probably associate nicotine with tobacco, namely smoking, as it's the most widely known medium. This will immediately cement the bond between nicotine and its perceived harm even though it may be arguably no less harmful than caffeine...but then again that all depends on the dose.

Lincoln, it's 40-60mg/kg. that makes a massive difference. I'd argue half that amount in humans is dangerous but even so it would be more nicotine than would be able to be consumed in traditional methods. Sure a drink would be able to carry much more of the drug but a 80kg person would have to consume over 3k mg to get to the LD50. That's like 40 regular portions sitting inside you until ALL of the nicotine is leached out. Most likely if you put it in your stomach your body would involuntarily throw it up. I think that's why some dude stuck a bunch of them up his ass once. Had to go to hospital and everything. Prolly would have died...imagine that for embarrassment.

                  Safe & Non-Toxic

The active ingredient in NicLite® is a very minuscule amount of a special non-toxic, non-addictive nicotine molecule organically similar to the nicotine (as reported by The New England Journal of Medicine) found in vegetables such as potatoes, yams, tomatoes, bell peppers, cauliflower, eggplant, chili peppers and, some teas.

But what about the memory of water, doesn't remember the smoke or poo but remembers special nicotine molecule...

I am somewhat skeptical about this....But then again apparently there are drinks for the drug marijuana, so maybe there is some possibility of nicotine being absorbed through the stomach as well. Regardless, I think if you have reached a point where you need drink with nicotine, you probably should start considering quitting, seems like at that point you have reached a level of addiction were it is just sad at that point. It's no longer for the social appeal, or the habit of having something in your mouth...Might as well be IV'ing the stuff....But maybe that's a bit harsh...heh
