Do you ex-smokers still occasionally miss smoking?

I made a point of keeping a pack of cigs next to the computer on the desk. After a year I threw them out as they were so stale.

Maybe one cig every three to six months. When I do smoke I am shocked at how I could do something so unpleasant to my body...can even feel it the next day.

    Don't miss smoking at all...

I miss smoking a lot, but like Randall I simply can't enjoy it anymore if I try. 2 puffs is all I can do. It's simply not enjoyable anymore. Any cigarette invariably tastes like some generic, year old cigarette that's been found under a sofa cushion (or wherever). The e-cig...isn't exactly what I remember smoking to be like, but it's 37 times nicer than the experience of smoking (for me) now.

If I were stuck somewhere without an e-cig or snus...well, I'd have to be pretty desperate to actually smoke. It's happened (getting stuck without) and I don't think the option of buying cigarettes even occurred to me.

Sometimes in a outside setting at a bar with good friends. I have slipped up numerous times over the years. Need to stay away from Europe.

I would think the russian hookers would be first on my list mate.....2 balls are enough for me. As for smokeing....I hate it now unless its herb.....and then I vape instead of smoke.

I smoked for over 40 years untill I found snus. Now I hate the taste of cigs. I have a huge humidor filled with boxes of aged cuban cigars but can't stand them either. Anyone want to buy some cubans cheap?
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I actually know someone who probably would mate. Let me ask him for you and see if he want some more.

It has been over 2 years since I quit smoking. It's been about a year since I had a cigarette. That said, I get more satisfaction out of snus and snuff than I ever did out of smoking, ever. When I'm out with friends and stuff, I'm the one that sits inside and watches everyone's stuff now haha. Even when I have a few drinks, I still would rather have a snus than a cigarette. I guess I did miss smoking at first, but I still get my nicotine in and it was not that hard to switch for me.

I miss em especially if i want to escape out of a conversation or room. I dont miss the aweful side effects like phlegm, asthma, respiratory depression, smelling like a 1990's preban pub... But i miss the feeling of having a cig in my hand, though really it was too short lived and too demanding to keep up the habbit of having to have one every 15-45 mins. Waking up in the middle of the night for a smoke 1-3 times wasnt good either.

Im sleeping better since i started snusing, i dont wheeze as much, my breathing overall is better(still not perfect but i need to see the doc about that) and I'm not coughing much now. Overall smoking just aint worth while

It takes a year till you really feel a significant difference. And that certainly depends on how much you had smoked before and how much smoking had impeded your stamina. Smoking is by far not as bad as the anti-tobacco-psychos claim, but yes, from my experience heavy smoking will make you short-breathed sooner or later.

I don't miss smoking. Snus is absolutely perfect for my needs. It gives me more nicotine than I need - and in a pleasing way, keeping a constant high level of nicotine in my blood all the time - not the rollercoaster-ride of nicotine highs and lows I got from smoking.

In my first year of snus-use I smoked a few cigarettes just to experience the difference again and to make sure that I had made the right decision and wasn't fooling myself. I think it's not a mistake if someone who switches to snus just smokes a cigarette once in a while.

For some reason I still smoke in most of my dreams, so it's not that it has become unnatural or unthinkable for me to smoke, but when I'm awake the only thing that comes to my mind when a portion or prilla of snus is used up and the nicotine is starting to fade is to take another portion or prilla.

                    Cheers!

I'm going on 3 weeks smoke free, and I notice there are small moments here and there where I think, "Man, would a cig be nice." But then, I just pop in a snus or vape up a storm and forget about it. If there is anything at all I miss about it, that would be the social aspect of it. The last few months I smoked, I'd take smoke breaks with my dad, and we would bond and talk. A part of me feels kinda bad for turning down the cigarette. Somehow, it doesn't quite feel the same vaping while he is smoking. I'm still going strong though.

Not really, I smoked for 11 years almost a pack a day. I was never really addicted to the mental aspect of smoking just the physical dependency on nicotine because when I quit using lozenges it wasn't that hard to not smoke in the car as long as I had a lozenge within a reasonable time frame. Drinking was a bitch cuz you're not supposed to use the lozenges while drinking anything but I hardly drink anymore and don't use lozenges since I found snus. Once your lungs clear from not having cigarettes at all for 3 months you really won't want to smoke anymore as long as u are getting nicotine from other sources.

i smoked for 35+ years and have been quit for four years. The only time I really crave a cigarette is when I am really mad and when I am in bad pain. Lately I have been in some bad pain and crave a camel non filter. I have not came close to smoking but i am afraid if the conditions were right I could at times.

My dad smoked from age aprox ten until his mid 60's or early 70's and he is in his late 80's now. Sometimes I see him do the front shirt pocket slap you described. Because of my work in the later years I never carried cigs in my shirt pocket. Maybe I won't have to live with slapping my shirt pocket the rest of my life haha.

I have cravings for snus as well. After I wake up, my can of redbull and my can of snus are the first two items I go for.

Also, that's pretty darn great that you guys have been able to quit the smokes. Congrats! You'll enjoy a longer life for it.

Like when I smoked, I still pop in a snus immediately upon finishing a meal. I like the smell of a smokey barroom, and some times I bring along a pipe. Ya know, just to make them all jealous of my cloud .

When I watch old movies where everyone smokes, I not only miss cigs but also the ignorance of the risks they all had.

I dont miss dip at all ever.
