Chewing tobacco should be good for the UK.

at the moment you only see it in tobacconists... we need it in the supermarkets. You see electronic cigarettes in the supermarket now. Why not chewing tobacco?

Probably popularity. Aside from mining towns, I don't think the UK has a strong history of chew, do they? It's somewhat common in the US, but it's going away slowly, at least in my area, and we have a strong, and wide history of oral tobacco use. All of which is to say stores don't carry what doesn't sell. That's shelf space gone for something that could make them money, like Ecigs :^D With all the restrictions on free speech, manufacturers can't tell people why they should give chew a try. You're kinda stuck.

Lakrisan isn't new, they (AG Snus & MacBaren) made this many years ago too. I've had some samples sent to me, and I like them alright. Just not sure how much nicotine I get from them. The flavor is good if you like anise or licorice.

This world is becoming very communist like. Pretty soon, you will only be able to buy tobacco produced in a government factory and grown on a government farm.

Grow yourself some rustica plants - cure the leaves and then roll them up and cut in to bites!

Plenty of nic, plenty of taste, no complicated snus making procedure, 100% organic, £0 per can because you can keep your own seeds for next year and they grow like weeds.

No government involved, communist or otherwise.

I think that is probably going to be my future with tobacco the way the snus politics is going for us in the EU.

The rustica bites are not necessarily starks - as a rough rule of thumb, a piece of rustica twist around the size of a snus portion gives nic like an extra stark portion - but half that amount is more discrete and will give a similar hit to an 8mg snus.

But these cuts are a great thing to have available on the UK market - I'm not dissing them at all - but lakrisan tastes very cloying sweet and has the all-pervasive liquorice thing going on. Which is great if you want that taste in your mouth. Of the currently available bites on the market I'd go for the piccanel ones which at least are plain tobacco taste - but the Swedish Match tobacco cuts experiment were much better for someone who likes the sort of tastes in snus.

Kudos for getting off the starks!

I keep a pouch of the picanels in my office at work for when I forget my snus, I like them a lot but need to use about 4 in one go.

dual-use (with cigs) is too easy with these little nic nuggets.
