This is an interesting topic for me right now, mainly because in an effort to completely cut out smoking I've stocked up on alternatives for taking care of my nicotine habit. I ordered some Toque snuff, refreshed my stock of snus, and just purchased an e-cigarette. I think I'm ready to put the smokes down for good, before they put me down. It may sound overboard...but if I have different ways of getting my nicotine I'm less likely to light up. Sometimes I get bored with snus and want a change...I think the snuff and e-cigarette will come in handy when I'm craving a smoke. I'm doing it this time. NO SMOKING!
So do y'all do anything besides Snus?

Smoking RYO (although much more for pleasure now), OT's, Stonewalls, the occasional cigar and now my new baccy obsession....snuff! I can't get enough of this stuff, particularly Toque's products. It's like a tooth friendly, calorie free never ending bag of candy WITH nicotine! Forget the bag of chips while watching the tube, I just sit there and snus and snuff to my hearts content. This stuffs so smooth and tasty, theres no reason to stop, cept to blow my snots out.

Sometimes I get bored with snus and want a change
That's how I am with tobacco!
One of my drawers here in my desk is basically all of my tobaccos 0.o
One pipe, one pipe bowl (my first pipe's stem broke, but I kept the bowl to still use), two pipe tobaccos, three cans of snus, a tin of good little cigars, a pack of cheap-ass little cigars, and a full sized cigar.
Soon to be adding those samples from Toque to the drawer, hopefully

Before my discovery of snus. My main consumption of tobacco was cigars(oliva, padron, el rey del mundo and many more) I still have 6 large travel sized humidors just filled with cigars being saved for parties and the random breaks from snusing. I also like to do the American spirits perique blend ryo once or twice a year. Pretty much since I started using tobacco I've wanted to try Nasal snuff so like two weeks ago I ordered from Toque and man alive that snuff is great but mainly the "FAAAAAAAAAAACK" factor comes into play quite a few times. I guess that's what I get for doing a couple foot long lines earlier.

I snus during the day, and smoke at night, generally. Reason being, I try to not smoke around my daughter, so snus is a great thing for that. But at night, there's just something about sitting outside, especially this time of year, that lends itself to smoking a cigarette. Especially if that cigarette is paired with a cold beer, or 2

One cigarette first thing in the morning. (I'm usually starving for food, and for nicotine when i wake up) If I try to snus first thing in the morning I get so darn hungry i have to spit the snus out after 10 minutes and go straight for the cereal. (I don't think cereal would mix well with snus, milk and snus sounds disgusting so I don't do both at the same time.) I really need to get over my 1 cigarette in the morning problem I have, and I can go cigarette free. (Skipping breakfast is not an option. I can't do it.)
After cereal I drink coffee, and snus for the rest of the day. I smoke the diggity dank quite often, several times a day, even with a snus in my mouth. Pushing the bowl up against my lip causes a lot of juicing, so I try to smoke bowls without a snus in my mouth. I play the 5 string banjo, almost always with a snus in my mouth. I am currently unemployed, but am a full-time student. I usually drink about 3 beers in the evening, usually with a snus in my mouth. (Moosehead Lager, from Canada.) I like canadian imports a lot, i really enjoy super skunky beers, and this does the trick. Moosehead if imported tastes a whole lot like Marijuana. Though I doubt if I drank it in canada it would be nearly as skunky as it is here in the US.)

I used to smoke anything that didn't smoke me first. Gave up all illegal smokeables when I became a dad ten years ago.
I rarely smoke cigarettes anymore, and cigars only slightly more often.
But I do use snus a whole lot (I'm a Skruf fanatic, though right now all I have is several cans of Offroad.)
And I smoke a pipe. I smoke a pipe whenever I can, several bowls a day. It's just terribly relaxing and enjoyable to me and I love the huge variety of types of pipe tobaccos-- different cuts, different strains, different blends...it's a smorgasbord of flavors.

We have to bear in mind that cigarettes are relative newcomers to the smoking world. For centuries, pipes were the most common form of smoking, though cigars have been around as long (some native tribes were rolling tobacco into leaves at the same time the early European explorers noted them smoking from pipes.)
When you smoke a cigar or pipe, you are still getting nicotine into your system. Rather than having it enter the lungs and then disappate into the bloodstream, with pipes and cigars (which aren't inhaled into the lungs) the nicotine enters your bloodstream via the head, through the soft palette and roof of the mouth.
Likewise, with oral tobacco, it enters via the saliva. But either way, you are still getting nicotine.
I read an interesting recent book about the history of tobacco earlier this year and it showed clear graphs delineating the increase of lung cancer in different nations as cigarettes became more and more popular and supplanted the pipe and cigar (cigarettes were pretty much "THE" way to smoke by WW2...quick, convenient, etc.)
While there are lots of mild pipe tobaccos out there, I guarantee you there are some blends that will knock you in the dirt. I recently got ahold of an old classic burley tobacco mixture made by a blending house called Pinkerton. The blend is called "Five Brothers." I tell you, it has enough nicotine to lay low a mule team. I had to sit down and lay off for awhile. The nic hit was so strong I felt like I was having an acid flashback. There are also some "Navy type" plug and rope pipe tobaccos that are downright dangerous. No way should you drive or operate heavy machinery while you're into a bowl of them!

You know some of my fondest memories as a kid are going to my grandfathers house when he smoked a pipe.
It was always christmas time and we would be opening presents and he would be in his rocking chair in the living room beside the fire smoking a pipe.
Their house always smelled so good too.
He no longer smokes his pipe because hes had 2 heart attacks and now has a pacemaker.
My wife never let me smoke in the house ( i dont blame her, cigs reek! ) but whenever i would get a black and mild to puff on she didnt mind because it was pipe tobacco.
I still love the aroma of the local smokeshop here. Thats always what you smell when you walk in. The very fragrant pipe tobaccos.
I am sure i will one day just as my grandfather did. Right now its nasal snuff and snus.
