Bigger Nicotine hit with Oliver Twists?

In my last snus order I picked up a few tins of Oliver Twists. I've gone through about 1/2 of a tin, and I have found that I get a bigger nicotine hit from 1 Oliver Twist than I do from a pris I form in the Icetool (1 1/2 notches from the top). I probably keep the twist in a little longer but not that much longer. Anyone know if these Twists are more potent than snus (I use roda, grov). Thanks.

One bit contains up to 5.7mg of nicotine, more than a mini-portion of snus. I mostly use 2 bits at once, which, nicotine-wise, already equals a strong portion of snus. The nicotine-delivery from tobacco-bits seems to be a little slower, but very satisfying.

Anyway, you're absolutely not fooling yourself, the stuff really is that strong. The tobacco itself, mostly Kentucky, with about 27mg/g is even much stronger than the snus-tobacco with mostly only 8mg/g, but one bit only weighs 0.2g.

For a 'maximum nicotine-kick' though, I personally think, that snus kicks better.

    Cheers!

I find the nic hit of Oliver Twist to be on the mild side, but then I often use 2 portions of General maxi's at a time. I guess I'm just used to large doses if "vitamin N"

I do dare to say that Röda aint the best snus if you're after a "nicotin kick" though.. Go for Nick & Johnny loose!

If you like that dark fired kentucky taste, try a tin of the Tre Ankare. Good stuff. Of course, Skruf Stark and Nick and Johnny have a kick too.

I'm personally a big fan of the oliver twists, but I've never gotten much of a discernible nicotine kick out of them, even two or three bits at a time. I just love the flavor, and they're so tiny, they're very easy to conceal in the mouth. I've only tried one flavor... can't remember what it was, but it's red and kind of berry flavored. Yum.

I'm just feeling pedantic, so apologies in advance

Snus is roughly 8mg/g, but is not entirely tobacco - in fact about half of it is water. So the tobacco itself is considerably stronger than that.

Oh yes, my comparison is mostly based on weight. Certainly the raw tobacco is not so much stronger, but I believe, that the raw tobacco, used for tobacco-bits is at least a little stronger. Informations are hard-to-find, but I know, that tobacco bits also contain more than 20% of moisture.

Maybe a tobacco-farmer joins the forum one day to clear some questions.

                Cheers!

No, just swallow as usuall. I've had no ill effects from OT. I like the flavor a lot, but the size is a little too small for my taste. I like the feel of snus under my lip, and the OT doesn't have much bulk.

Interesting. I tried the OT before discovering snus, and I found them to have almost no kick at all. Maybe now that I've quit smoking, I'll revisit them.

I find the cessation of swallowing the juice from OT the same as that from American dip. I used these for a short while, always outside like yardwork or umpiring, so I could spit.

Coupled with no oral fixation/feel of something in my mouth, they had no use for me. The nic delivery was nice and slow for me like snus. But I would rather toss in a big plug of redman or garrett and attain a real tobacco feel.

Anticipating a PP response with something regarding the oral fixation.
