    J.M. Boswell

I've got a decent little briar collection going which includes Peterson, Savinelli, Stanwell, Butz Choquin, J.M. Boswell, and some others. All of these brands have some very affordable pipes that do a great job. The 2 Boswells I have deserve special recognition though, because they truly smoke great! I think I paid around $60 each brand new which is not much dough for a pipe. They use some kind of (I believe) natural coating on the inside of the bowl, so the break-in is pretty much non existent. They smoked great from the start (much unlike my Peterson Deluxe with it's entire inside stummel coated with stain).

I would highly recommend getting a Boswell if you are in the market. You'll get a lot of bang for your buck.

I hear very good things about the Boswell pipes, but I haven't bought one yet. They are certainly very attractively carved.
