    Cool Looking Tobacco Tins.

I found this tin on ebay and absolutely love it! I would even bid on it if it wasn't for the $5+ shipping fee. It is a Holiday Tobacco Tin. I was stationed at Ft. Eustis for a while and the ship on that tin reminds me of a ship I saw whenever we passed the Dead Fleet. It was an older passenger ship and I used to wonder what the history of that ship was and how the government acquired it. My guess is that it was used to carry troops in WWII but that is only a guess. I am very tempted to start collecting tobacco tins but I am not sure where I would keep them. Some of them are quite nice.

OK I just placed a bid on this tin because it is ending and has no other bidders. I can live with the $5 shipping if I get this for a $1. This is also a pretty cool tin with a ship on it.

I'm a big fan of tobacco tins, and I have a few, but I don't have the spare cash t actively collect the atm. Like most collections, it's best to specialize, or you'll be quickly overrun. Stick with a manufacturer, time period, or subject matter, and you'll be good to go. If I were to actively collect, I'd get tins from before 1948. That would give me the 30s-WWII which I'm especially interested in.

Yeah - looks like we weren't the only ones bidding on there. Somebody came in right at the end and sniped it.

Hey, wouldn't that be funny if there was a HUGE market for Swedish Snus cans 20 years from now and here we are tossing them in the recycle bin.

I'll try to keep it mind, and get a picture when I can. They're squirreled away in boxes, and stuff, and I can't get my hands immediately on them.

No problem, it went for more than I would have paid for it and there were other bidders on it as well. I just like looking at them. It shows that at least SOME things get better with age.

I like the pictures Cornell and Diehl print for their tins.

I wish that seller luck in trying to sell fake snus for $11.00 a can! He/She is going to need it unless Chad comes along and buys it.

I'll be in luck if that happens since I have Damn near every can I have ever used.
