    Pipe tobacco question

Hi, Does anyone know if theirs any pipe tobacco's like wild n' mild cigars or any other cigars.. Preferably with no bite what so ever(I suffer from this quite badly) and needs to be available online within the U.K or in stores.

Recently got a 10 min pipe from EA Carey, just need a nice mild tobacco to burn in it. A normal pipe burns for too long for my liking.

Thinking along the lines of Holger Danske, which I've hear has no bite and is meant to be quite nice. Would Twist tobacco taste like a cigar?

I did recently try Mac Baren but that was awe full, worse bite I've had so far and burns way to hot.

There are cigar leaf pipe tobaccos out there, but they will tend to be a bit stronger (bite) and really do not fully capture the cigar taste.

For something mild try a Cavendish tobacco (with whatever flavoring you like). These are usually sold as house blends here in the states.....with names like Captain Jack......or Almond delight.....they tend to be more beginner tobaccos and thus are sweeter and milder...... But mind you it is the sugar content in the leaf and the casing that makes one tobacco burn hotter than another. Those with less sugar tend to bite a bit more (that is, be stronger in flavor).

    Two things you might try

    1) Buy a churchwarden pipe. The longer stem will cool the smoke. The bowls tend to be smaller....but regardless of the size of the bowl.....you don't have to fill it all the way up....you can pick these up for pretty cheap....around $30 USD to as much as you want to spend.......or another option is you can buy a gourd (Sherlock homes looking) pipe......try ebay......the space between the meerschaum bowl insert and the gourd body of the pipe will also cool the smoke and make it much more mellow.

regardless a smaller pipe will burn hotter and harsher

    2) you could always just crumble a wild n' mild cigar and smoke it in your pipe
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Might try the Gourd route. Just successfully tried H&G Toffee Pigtail in my Little Gem and it was the nicest smoke I've had since I first tried pipes 6 months ago.
Though its a pain to cut and light. Quite sweet and mild with no burn, would their plug and flake be the same I wonder?

I'll give it a go in my Falcon later see if I get the same results.

I'm surprised that a smaller pipe will cause more bite.

I wasnt too impressed with the house blends from EA Carey. tried quite a few but they all had bite and if not actual bite then a kind of chemical tingly burning sensation.

I'm not sure we can get much in the way of pipe tobacco here in the UK that is akin to smoking a cigar which is why i normally always go with a virginia. You can order mail order from the US... there you can find Billy Budd and others which have cigar leaf in them. But still, they don't seem to taste exactly like a cigar does imo.

I would say try Gauntley's Nottingham blend or Bayou blend. There are some Gauntley's house blends with cigar leaf in, just check their website and check out the selection, Glynn describes them brilliantly .
