today one of the neighbors gave me a box of hookah tobacco it smells fantastic but heres the question what the hell is hookah and how do you smoke it has anyone here ever tried it i did some looking on line and all i could out was the pipe is a type of water pipe so?????

Yes, it is a water pipe. But hookah tobacco generally doesn't contain nicotine. It is very cool I enjoyed it very much, but stopped due to the cost. About $17 every hookah session.

I am sure there is a hookah bar near you. Check it out on the net, go talk to them, hookahs come in all shapes and sized. Some are rather inexpensive, some re very expensive, and everything in between.

Hookahs are an especially communal activity. Many hookahs have multiple hoses to make it easier for friends to share.

It is very pleasurable. if I hadn't gone with smoking a pipe, I am sure i would smoke a Hookah more. I have always been rather open about this. I still love everything about burning tobacco. And I want that in my life. I just didn't want to HAVE to smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day. I have learned that cigarettes, at least most, are the worst kind of burning tobacco there is.

I encourage you to at least find a Hookah bar, and give it a try for yourself. You will know if it is something you want to continue.

I went to a hookah bar for the first time a couple of months ago. I've used hookahs to smoke other things, but that was the only time I've actually used one for its intended purpose. As Sage said, it was quite pleasurable. I wish my company at the time had been better, as I get the impression that it's one of those things that goes very well with good conversation. If you're at all interested, I'd suggest giving it a try.

my buddys got a couple hookahs, its nice but he smokes it like all day every day. shit gets old when you do it like that. but once in a while its real nice. just lay back in a comfy chair and take long ass draws on it, itll mellow your shit out.

I own a tabletop hookah and fire it up every so often. I really enjoy the coffee flavors - and the plain tobacco flavor as well. The cleanup is a pain in the ass, and you have to be very careful with the burning coals. The tabletop on the back porch isn't quite what it used to be. I suggest lining whatever surface you use to place the hookah with foil.

And DO NOT smoke it inside of your house. A tumbling hot coal will destroy carpets, furniture, or anything else that gets in its way.
