      @VocalEK

By the way, this guy sounds that the fellow that was on here awhile back touting that circle jerk forum about quitting tobacco. Even if VocalEK is incorrect, being able to spell goes a very long way to having your point be taken seriously.

OP - Really gonna split hairs and get into a pissing contest over this? It's like arguing what is safer, snus or snuff. The fact is, E Cigs are safer than smoking.
        /thread
People with IQs three times higher than yours have proven this, many respected in the harm reduction field. You're a new poster with no credibility or facts/studies backing anything you have said.
        /thread
Also, you're an idiot. Learn how to spell, do your research, and get some facts before you post in a forum that helps people quit smoking and attempt to spread your sordid agenda.

What devices, done by who, and where are links to these studies?

You're missing facts in your random e cigarette hating.

It's simple: OP either will post links to studies that back up these alleged "facts", or he will admit defeat and show that he could not prove his point, and that he was just making it all up.

Now is your time to shine OP, link us to the facts or admit you made it all up.

I'm smoking an e-cig while I read this thread. I do so to directly oppose your epic stupidity. Please crawl back into whatever anti-tobacco/anti-nicotine hole you crawled out of. I'm all in for all nicotine addicted people to reduce their harm in whatever way they can, anyone who isn't...is just foolish in my opinion.

stay away from the 50 dollar "made in china" vaporizers they sell on ebay. I used one a few years back got so high on plastic that forming sentences was near impossible come dinner time two hours later. He doesn't seem anti-tobacco just anti e-cigarette. Still I would get the well-reviewed higher quality models of e-cigs. nothing made in china.

I wouldn’t be too harsh on the OP. He does have a point if his experience of the e-cig he used was a counterfeit one from China. As charmando pointed out, he got high on the plastic. You only need to look at the tobacco trade for differences in regular and counterfeit tobacco. I looked at a site the other day that said “someone smoking 20 counterfeits would have smoked the same amount as 600 normal fags”, or words to that affect.

Personally, I wouldn’t touch an e-cig, just something about the words electronic and cigarette in the same sentence that doesn’t sit right with me. I guess only time will tell if the whole electronic cigarette trade has a down side, turn the clock back 40 or 50 years and look at tobacco, now look at tobacco in the year 2012. One thing I am sure about is the rise of counterfeit electronic cigarettes will only grow bigger as it becomes more popular, and the health risks associated with counterfeit e-cigarette smoking will hit home in the not too distant future.

Guys it's a troll... I mean is there really a debate on that?

First post here, bashing something with extremely poor information and no proof for it.
Has elicited desired response from people here, drama.
                    Poor spelling.
Claims to be a casual snuser, weak attempt to establish a "I'm one of you" feel.

                    The prosecution rests...

VocalEK, THanks for posting. I am not an e-cig fan, tried all kinds, just wasn't for me. But as I was reading this thread I was like "O Cmon, OP's post is full of every myth about E-Cigs, when is someone going to call him on it. THe "anti-freeze" myth has been out there since e-cigs hit the scene because no one knows how to look anything up before they scream how they know what it is.

OP here are many uses of Propylene glycol. It seems even you might be ingesting it on a daily basis. At least research before you slam a product you don't know anything about. Again, I am one that doesn't believe e-cigs deliver nicotine effectly, based on my own experience with them, but I won't go spreading myths and lies slamming the product, when they are in fact myths or lies, and if their existance helps others quit, then I am all for them being available.

                        Propylene glycol is used:

As a solvent in many pharmaceuticals, including oral, injectable and topical formulations (notably, diazepam, which is insoluble in water, uses propylene glycol as its solvent in its clinical, injectable form[5])
As a humectant food additive, labeled as E number E1520
As an emulsification agent in Angostura and orange bitters
As a moisturizer in medicines, cosmetics, food, toothpaste, shampoo, mouth wash, hair care and tobacco products
As a carrier in fragrance oil
                        To produce polyester compounds
As an ingredient in massage oils
In hand sanitizers, antibacterial lotions, and saline solutions
In smoke machines to make artificial smoke for use in firefighters' training and theatrical productions
In electronic cigarettes, as a vaporizable base for diluting the nicotine liquid
As a solvent for food colors and flavorings
As an ingredient, along with wax and gelatin, in the production of paintballs
As a moisture stabilizer (humectant) for snus (Swedish style snuff)
As a cooling agent for beer and wine glycol jacketed fermentation tanks
As a nontoxic antifreeze for winterizing drinking water systems (for example recreational vehicles), and in applications where the used antifreeze eventually will be drained into the soil, water, or a septic system[6]
As a less-toxic antifreeze in solar water heating systems
As a solvent used in mixing photographic chemicals, such as film developers
                        In cryonics
As a working fluid in hydraulic presses
As a coolant in liquid cooling systems
To regulate humidity in a cigar humidor
As the killing and preserving agent in pitfall traps, usually used to capture ground beetles
As an additive to pipe tobacco to prevent dehydration
                        To treat livestock ketosis
As the main ingredient in deodorant sticks
                        To deice aircraft[7]
As an ingredient in UV or blacklight tattoo ink
As a lubricant in air conditioning compressors
As a wetting agent, used to determine drying time in paints and coatings
Used in the beverage mixer Sweet N Sour.
Used in antifreeze because it can act as a coolant.

PG is also a common additive to cigarette tobacco. Most of us inhaled smoke from burning PG for decades, so why freak out now?
