Pax: Ploom's new premium loose-leaf vaporizer

I’m here as a representative for a supplier called Ploom - thanks for your hospitality! I’m a first time poster so apologies if any policies/regulations were not followed - please advise and I’ll be sure to follow in the future.

Ploom’s a tobacco company in San Francisco that produces premium vaporizers. You may be familiar with Ploom’s first product, the model One, which vaporizes tobacco-filled pods. We’re excited to announce our new product, Pax, a category-defining premium loose-leaf tobacco portable vaporizer, delivering the best quality vaporization experience on the market.

    Pax features include:
    • Three adjustable temperature settings
    • Lithium ion rechargeable internal battery
    • High performance in a compact size
    • Retractable mouthpiece for ease of use
    • LED indicator lights
    • Laser-welded stainless steel air path
    • 10-year warranty

Pax retails for $249.99. Once product is shipping (anticipated by August 1st) retail store locations will be available at www.ploom.com.

At our site you will also find:
    • Pax User Manual
    • Pax Product Use Video
    • Product FAQs
    • Downloadable Press Kit

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have about Pax and/or Ploom. Looking forward to hearing your feedback!

I was interested in buying the first model of the Ploom. I am located in Canada. Did you recently support shipping to Canada? Thanks!

Wow - that looks incredible. Amazing design. Really bold to go for something that looks almost entirely unrelated to tobacco products and more like the latest iPod. And to use with loose tobacco is brilliant too - I take it you can choose any tobacco blend you like.

I really really really would love to try this ... but alas I'm in the UK too :-(

In fact I would definitely buy this. Go on - where can I get one? - surely it's possible to ship something so small and sleek internationally.

Go on, Ploom, bite the bullet and get me to be the one to start spreading the word this side of the pond. They'll all be saying - "Hey, did you see that cool new way to take tobacco? Yeah - that Squeezyjohn was using one - he looked so stylish, and the scent of vaporising Dunhill London Mixture was sublimely English while he strolled down the Strand in his top hat and smoking jacket." There's plenty of money waiting to be spent on cool new gadgets in "that there London" and they've all got iPads now. So what are you waiting for - you just need to take my money somehow and pop one in the post on August 1st. How hard can it be?

I watched the video to try and understand the product..you fill it with like ryo tobacco? Could you open up a cigarette and use that tobacco?? Would there be any benefit using this tobacco in the ploom device? I have to admit, curiosity got the better of me and I bought a disposable e cig hookah...it was interesting. I can see why the attraction to these electronic devices

PS - if you need any test subjects...I am volunteering my services! I have appx 15 years of tobacco experience

We recommend Pax being used with your favorite pipe tobacco. Pax will produce vapor, which is different from smoke, although we cannot comment on the differences.

We appreciate the offer, but we're all full up on test subjects for now (=

Could you use other tobacco or does it have to be loose leaf. Like say could I put some coarse snuff in there and vaporize it? I use toque snuff in my ploom pods on occasion so I am wondering if you could put some lime toast in this and vaporize the tobacco for a great lime toast flavored smoke. If so this might be a must purchase.

                        From our FAQ: http://www.ploom.com/support#what-is...nt-in-the-oven

Pax is designed for use with pipe tobacco. Pax can be packed with other plant materials, such as peppermint, which we currently use in our modelOne herbal blend pod flavor kick-ass mint. Unlike our current product, modelOne, Pax is a loose-leaf vaporizer, and does not work with Ploom’s pre-packed pods. Ploom does not recommend or warrant non-tobacco use. Check out our user video to see the oven-filling process for further clarification.

We have currently only experimented with pipe tobacco, but will look into other options. Thank you for the suggestion!

Hey Ploom, is the idea to inhale it right down to your lungs or smoke a bit more like a briar pipe concentrating in your mouth/throat?

Hi Ansel. We recommend, especially for new users, to treat it like a cigar or tobacco pipe and just puff into the mouth.
