I did something similar, but without heat. I saw it on the e-cig forum and tried it and it worked great. I just put a tablespoon of propylene glycol in a shot glass and added one pouch of that icky Goat Rape snus. Let it sit for a day, squeezed all the juice from the snus, and tried it. Funny how something that I'm not crazy about using for snus actually tasted decent when I vaped it in my e-cig!

The next video in this outstanding series will be entitled, "How I Ruined a Perfectly Good E-Cig Atomizer Using Homebrew Snus Juice." That will be followed by a sad documentary called "How I Voided My Warranty With Unapproved Fluids."

This kind of home experimentation is for desperate times only.

And a big problem, touched on here, is exactly how much nicotine will transfer to the vegetable glycerine. I asked a doctor who e-smoked himself and conducted research on e-smoking. His answer: Not much, not much at all.

In my experience, not enough to feel even a tiny hit.

The best use of that snus is to pop one in your mouth and, at the same time, vape the pure glycerine with perhaps some propylene glycol-based flavoring added. No mess. No fuss. Happy atomizer. Valid warranty intact.

that's what I'm thinking... just pop a snus in... seriously.

on the other hand, I'm all for experimentation, though I think the method should be scientific, and not this FUBAR quack home brew with no research crap.

Liquid containing nicotine is absorbed into a cartridge, which then contacts an atomizer that heats up to vaporize it. A snus portion cannot be placed directly in the cartridge. That won't work.

But just look at that homebrew liquid. It is filthy with particulates. Those will form a residue on the nichrome atomizer and you can kiss it goodbye in a week or less. E-liquid must be extremely clean -- and it varies from maker to maker.

Best use snus as meant. Best e-smoke with the cleanest, clearest liquid you can buy from a quality manufacturer.

That's what Whatman filters are made for...

I understand your concern TB. In the regulatory enviorement we're in, I'm glad there are people who experiment, and at some point it might be useful to have additional methods for obtaining E-liquid.

I would actually like to try this, but I look specifically for low nic hits. Buying -e-liquid is no guarantee. I had some 6 mg Boro, which is supposed to taste like Marlboro, but it tastes more like celery run over by a car on a dirt road, like most US premade cigs. I fixed it by mixing it in a 2 to 1 ratio with some 3 mg Kahlua to end up with a 4 mg Kahlua/Boro final blend. It still has the Boro baccy undertone, but I no longer crave Buffalo Hot Wings or pimento cheese when I hit it.

I would really like to do this with some Roda Lacket loose, but strain it through a coffee filter to remove the particles. Many are doing this with the 17 mg Oden's portions.

I'm all for home experimenting, as long as it's not dangerous (some nuts try to find pure nicotine!). When I do my own brews, I use a fine, fine filter my wife got from the college where she works.

In the end, though, I still have no way to test the nicotine strength in my home brew liquid. And I think it is pathetically low.
