Katherine Heigl Smokes All New Electronic Cigarette with David Letterman
Electronic cigarettes just made their debut on the Dave Letterman show on CBS. Letterman was amazed.
27-September-2010
"Your awfully good with that." said Heigl, in regards to Dave puffing on the ecigarette unit. “Most users cannot tell the difference.”
It all happened when they were discussing quitting smoking. Katherine Heigl said she tried and failed with just about every quit smoking product including chantix. With all of these quit smoking products, she claimed she just couldn't seem to kick the habit. That is until she stumbled upon the electronic cigarette which she claims to have used to quit smoking.
The electric cigarette is gaining more and more popularity everyday. Offered by a NY firm, electronic cigarettes Inc. located at electroniccigarettes.com. Their all new product mimics the act of smoking using a tar free and odorless technology that delivers nicotine. The unit is electronic, rechargeable, shaped and sized like a cigarette. It vaporizes liquid nicotine cartridges instead of burning tobacco and contains much less chemicals than a real cigarette. While doing this, the end of the unit lights up just like a real cigarette, the user puffs on the vapor, inhales and exhales just like the real thing.
"Most users cannot tell the difference." says a spokesperson from Electronic Cigarettes Inc. "We have seen great response with our product and were very excited to see the electronic cigarette in the hands of Katherine Heigl and David Letterman tonight."
Electronic Cigarettes Inc. also went on to tell us, "Ms.Heigl claims that it has helped her quit, and we just want to clarify that we do not market this product as a quit smoking device in anyway, there are rules against making such claims and we abide by them. At the same time, we cannot control what celebrities are saying about their personal experience with the product on national television."
I happened to catch this segment while channel-hopping last night.
Waited for any mention of snus or snuff but, since this was an unofficial
ad for e-cigs, that didn't happen. Heigl was really into it; kinda like a
teenager thumbing her nose at authority. Letterman played his part of
the laid-back 'wow' guy, claiming ignorance of such a new technology.
At least now the word is out nationally about e-cigs; next up, get
Letterman to 'wow' the fact that snus has been around for ~200
years and he had no clue!! Swedish Match --- grab the moment!!
