I wish i would have known what the title of this thread meant..Jus clicked on it and I want one and only on pg2 of this thread.. Hopefully there will be back issues and as I see in snusgetters next post after this in a quote

"We are completely sold out of the first issue. Stay tuned during the next couple of months when we start getting newsstand returns in to sell as back issues. This will roughly coincide with the launch of Volume Two, sometime in January-February 2011. " http://www.stephemeris.com/

But I want one now... Wah!!!

        Hi Eric!

The reason that we aren't publicizing the stores that are carrying the magazine is because we want to determine exactly how many copies are being sold by the average guy walking into a tobacco store/newsstand and going "whoa! What the heck is this?" Giving out retailer info would potentially skew that data. I can tell you that ALL of our Texas stores are completely sold out (except maybe for Fumee in Austin, I don't know if Anthony has any left or not.) We're not trying to be secretive, just practical.

Besides, we figured that nobody would want to pay full price on the newsstand when they could get a 10% discount and free shipping by ordering through our site.

@ Desiree, Tom, Outback et al; thank you for the kind words! We put a lot into the book and we're glad you've enjoyed it so far. As soon as we can find a reliable print shop, we will be offering annual subscriptions at a discounted rate.

@snusgetter: Man, you hit the nail on the head! I was a big fan of those small press mags like MEN and The Hacker's Quarterly, not to mention the "weird" ones like Fate and Far Out. After the WWW took off so mightily, it seems like those mags lost some luster and tried to "go pro" in a way that detracted from their original intent.

We tried to model sTe on the best fanzines that I grew up reading, but with an eye toward the slickness of a "real" glossy newsstand mag. I'm not sure what we've arrived at (zine, prozine, magazine, periodical ?) but I like the fact that we've seemed to hit a nerve in some segment of each community.

And your statement regarding our political policies are quite correct; our magazine is not conservative, or liberal, or even moderate; we're just anti-government regulation. Some of our writers are on the right, some on the left, some are staunchly Libertarian (*raising my hand*) and one of our guys is a socialist anarchist if you can believe that. But we all come together under the idea that tobacco users are sick of being told what's best for them by government, doctors, tobacco companies, preachers, pundits, pharmaceutical companies, etc. We prefer to let science speak for itself and let the reader draw his or her own conclusion.

So while I can't promise that every reader will agree with every point of view that we present in the Ephemeris, I can promise that no matter what political stripe you paint yourself with, we want you to enjoy reading our scandalous rag.

I recieved my copy today. It's a fantastic mag and there is some great reading in it. I really enjoyed Ljunglof's Ettan
and the history of Snus article. I will definately be taking out a subsciption when it becomes available.
Well done, and keep up the good work.

sTe finally arrived today; just got it from the mailbox.

Spiffy is the first thing that comes to mind. A quick
glance of the contents and I know I'll be spending
some time with it in the next couple of days.

This book is really cool for those who didn't get it.
                        It's a great coffee table book/conversation piece.

                            Just an FYI...

If you don't have a Paypal account you can still use a credit card thru Paypal (i.e., a normal cc transaction).

And, lemme tell you... there's a lotta good reading there. In fact, my grandson 'borrowed' my first issue before I could even finish it and I'm still waiting for him to return it to me.

You and PP should form a senior citizen's snus club. :P

Better yet, perhaps a senior citizens' discount could be lobbied for on the retailers websites. This could work perfectly with the ideas in the group/mass order thread.
