    Bummer, Discreet.

Just talked to Tom from Discreet, sadly he closed up shop, sold his equipment and factory. When asking him who he sold his equipment to he said he couldn't say that much, and he closed with "snus just isn't a viable business in the US."

    Sad to see this happen.

Probably is not a viable business because of the chew and dip.

It's very similar to getting a polar bear used to live in the Amazonian forests. ;-)

Imagine having it in some European countries... where people are that open minded as they are in the U.S ...

I mean largely speaking 99% of the internet business/sales/leads you name it is generated by U.S ...

Pretty sad to hear this happen....

Ya. They were ok for what they were, but like all American snus, they were sweet.

Oh no, whatever shall the world do in the absence of it's single most prized possession: overly sweet snus in crappy throwaway bags that has barely any nicotene in it. Woe am I.

On a serious note, that sucks though. I wasn't a huge fan of discreet but they seemed to penetrate the market better than any other company. The only other non-camel/marlboro snus i've seen at a gas sation is discreet snus.

Every snus brand disapering is a dark chapter. Even though I haven't tried the brand, or I have tried it and not liket it, it's a part of us Scandinavian's culture being ruined...

              Maybe you're right ...

              I haven't tried discreet... but I mean ... Strawberry snus .... (I'd rather eat the strawberries) :-)

It's different with american tobacco which at least for me is a completely different experience. Waiting for my grape, peach dip soon....

I remember receiving a free sample order and not being impressed. While they were less sweet than Marlboro and Camel snus, the nicotine content was too low for my needs.

I really did not like the packaging design/concept the first time I saw it. The snus was better then expected but no nicotine.
Compared to Klondike which was a immediate must have but flopped totally on substance.

I googled it, and the packaging looked more like gum or pastilles than snus... No wonder why it flopped.

Sorry to see Tom go but I disagree with him. Why can't a USA producer make snus the way Swedish Snus is made? Why the need to keep re-inventing the wheel? Drop the sweetness and give us a decent amount of nicotine and I'll gladly buy their product.

                        Interesting SNUSON Reviews...

                        ~
                        Discreet Emerald Ice
                        Discreet Cool Mint

I find Discreet to be an interesting change of pace, although with the
advent of the new long snuses and the Northerners, I no longer really
need them (but I did stock up sufficiently when they were the only
                        discreets
I knew about). Their non-conventional packaging does
really make them truly discreet when pocketed.

I have them listed at 7.4mg of nicotine per portion, but I can no longer
find their website that had that info.

It was AmericanSnus.com, but I see that's something else now.

I reversed it and found another site Northerner owns.
                              http://www.snusamerica.com/

They must have a hell of a domain renewal bill every year :P
